i am so mad i have had to replace my second windshield !!!i swear there is a defect here .the windshield start's to crack from the ruber seam .i love my xb gas mileage not what they say but still better then my 4runner .anyway back to the windshield now on my 3rd windshield and not happy the windshield has had no damage or anything like rock's hit it i am the only one who drive's it so i know nothing has hit it .the windshield just start's to break from the ruber seam and goes out from there both have broken in the same area the first from the ruber seam on the driver side and now on the passenger side right in the middle tward the bottom on each side . now how in the world could this happen twice .if anyone else has had this problem let me know because i don't know what to do i swear there is a defect and it's not fair that i have to replace the windshield again and i haven't even had the car a year and i plan on having this car for many year's to come i wonder how many windshield's i will have to put into it ?

 

My brothers still on his first but the cracks are about to meet i think he's waiting for for it just shatter before he replaces it.

 

i had this yesterday. i went outside to look at the car and i notice a crack on my windshield. crack came from the rubber piece all the across the driver side to the middle of the windshield. I have no idea how this happen. i have no rock chips or anything. Thinking about taking it to the dealer to see if they will replace it.

 

3rd windshield, that sucks. Who ever installed #2 should have to pay for #3. Sounds like a crappy install job to me. There may have been not enough of the black epoxy used to bond the windshield in place. If any metal is touching the glass it would cause the break. Another possible cause could be alignment.

I've installed windshields in various cars b4 and never had one break without a rock or a baseball bat being involved (jk about the bat).

All and all it’s a bum wrap and someone needs to pay up for their carelessness. Hope this series of problems works out for you and costs you as little as possible.
