I know the recommendation for service is 6 months or 5000 miles. I'm coming up on 6 months on my xA, but I'll only have about 2500 miles in that time (I have a short drive to work). Should I go ahead and have service done at every 6 month interval or should I wait until I get closer to 5000 miles (which at this rate will be closer to a year)?

 

they tell you that cause oil does break down over time so its better to do which ever comes first. in your case go in for the 6 month service but if you had put on the extra mileage do it then.

 

Just do exactly what it recommends. If you get to 6 months first, take it on in and stick to the 6 month interval. You'll be just fine.
