Default Stock xB stalls during coasting...

i love my new scion xB, but noticed on two occasions that the car stalled out when i exited off the freeway. i didn't do any strange clutch work, so i can't imagine that i caused the car to stall out. maybe i got a bad set of plugs?

anyone else had this problem?

time to make a trip to the dealer. too bad, since i only have about 1200 miles on the car.

Are you running the stock airbox or another unit?

Are you decelerating down the offramp, or pressing in the clutch/coasting?

Sometimes "intakes" can cause some issues when clutching in at high speeds...

stock intake. decelerating down the offramp, but pressing in the clutch well before i get down to the 30 mph range.

I've had the same issue. It normally happens on curves, but once at a stop light. Any clue as to why?

i had the car checked out extensively at the dealer, including having john williams, the service manager at keyes scion, go on an extended 30-minute drive with me. we tried to recreate the problem, but the car didn't stall.

they kept the car and john says that they spent a good four hours on the car checking every possibility, even getting on the phone with toyota corporate and dealing with their support. they couldn't find anything wrong.

i'm hoping that maybe it was a loose connection that was fixed inadvertently when they checked things out.

scion has been very good in addressing this problem. aaron at corporate headquarters has made sure that they have taken this issue seriously, as this is the first time they have heard about the issue.

if your scion is having the same issue, i strongly urge you to talk to aaron at scion's support. let me know how it goes.
