Since i am IT guy but not Mechanical guy for car repairs....

The Question:

I was in down town and a guy stop on red "of caurse Lo0L" the thing is when he shifts he had that Strange-Nice-Noise every time he change the gear you could hear pss pssssssss psssssssssssst ......what is that? I was kinda wondering about nos? supercharger.......please explain ? :oops:

 

clutch/brake fluid going up and down the tubing?

 

Duno man ...it was wierd that by shifting the gear you can hear the noise by the engine now i was just wondering is that from the turbo or something ? could i install that noise on my xA lol coz i like it

 

Sounds like the car was a turbo.
To get that sound you could either turbocharge your xA with a nice blowoff valve, or get one of these ricey things: http://www.takakaira.com/accessories...ightpager.html

that noise was from Blow Off Valve....must be a turbo

 

Juppppppppppp i went to down town this week and saw the guy with Honda Prelude "One of my cars" annnddddddd i ask the guy what that noise is ? .....he say its from turbo ....i feel stupid but you know what nobody is born with that knowlage hahahah...

Vortech supercharged cars also use BOV's and have IC's(sometimes)

That BOV sound got annoying after a while though, I used to hate having to hear it at 2am on a clear night. I had the turbo XS RFL on my old turbo Integra, then I sold that and bought an HKS SSQV, and that sounded like a bird chirp; hated it. I then bought a DSM stock BOV that hardly made any noise and loved it.
too bad atmospheric setups are so damn hard on non-turbo cars.

 

unless you want people to laugh in your face, don't buy a damn blow-off valve simulator. your car will most likely be laughed at everywhere you go by boosted and non-boosted people alike. i'd point and laugh if I saw your NA xA blowing off, and i'm sure most of the people here would too.
if you just want the sound of turbo, skip all the heartache and trouble n/a turbo setups bring and buy a naturally turbo car; an old turbo 2, 300zxtt, supra, wrx, fd3s, conquest, etc. but remember, you'd have it for all the wrong reasons.

 

i just like the sound of it .....btw i dont care if people laugh ........... i drive that car and i make it the way i want it not the people
