Default Stuck ignition key on my NEW tC?

I'm not sure if it was something I did, or not, but I couldn't get my blasted ignition key out this evening. Very frustrating... I tried everything I could think of:
- take car in and out of Park - nope
- wiggle the key a LOT -- nope
- turn steering wheel to see if it was tight against key -- nope :oops:
- pray a lot -- nope
- cuss even more after sending wife and sweetmaryland89 inside -- nope :twisted:
I finally gave up and used my valet key to lock up the car for the night. I figured I'd have to head for the dealership in the AM to get it checked out.
Came upstairs, had some Diet Pepsi and some frozen grapes... I just HAD to check it out one more time, so I went back outside. This time the key came right out -- OF COURSE! :?

Anyone else have this problem? I'm hoping it's not going to be a recurring one.

I have found that I have to ever so slightly push my key in to get it to release so I can take it out. I don't know if that's common or not - my previous car was a POS and eight years old.

Luckily, I had no problems this morning.

I tried what you said when I was trying all sorts of things last night. No luck...

<sigh>

sorry to hear that about your tC.. i thought I had a problem with mine today, until I realized the steering wheel was locked.. doh! moved it to the side and then the key moved correctly..

i'd say take it to the dealer if it keeps acting up..

My moms 02' camry locked up once.... I let it sit for 1/2 hour, And then when I tried it again and it worked fine!! I would keep an eye on it. My Previous car (00' Focus) compleatly locked up and it took a lock-smith to replace it.
