Default sunroof air seals

Hey everyone,

I didn't know where to put this topic so here I am. Recently i've been noticing that my sunroof has the sound of air seeping through when driving at speeds of 50+mph. when the sunroof is completely closed i can hear the noise, when i tilt the sunroof up..the sound goes away...I think it's probably the rubber seal thats probably going out due to normal wear & tear but does anyone have a fix for that? any advice on what to do to get rid of that "leaking air" sound?

my friend's completely flew off. and mine was about to come off the other day.

check that black stripping in FRONT of the deflector piece. the one in between the windshield and sunroof. tap or push down on it all the way across.

try reseting it, undo the negative battery terminal and use the owner's manual to reset it.

Default sunroof

I've already tried to reset the runroof, I was thinking that the force to close wasn't strong enough to seal off all the air but it's not. I tried pushing down all the black weather strips around the sunroof and no help..=(

Default sunroof

yeah, my warranty is up also and the dealer wants me to pay $100 just for an "inspection". what i don't understand is what type of "inspection" it will be, theres no way to hook that thing up to a machine and diagnose it, the only way to "diagnose" the problem is to have someone drive around and listen for the air seeping through...what's everyones advice?!?!

WTF??? $100 for an inspection? I really hate dealers like that. If you bought the car from them then they should give you at least free inspection and they should ONLY charge you when you let them fix it.

I had the same problem, but resetting my sunroof did the trick for me. Before I did that, the sunroof would make a high pitched scream when I went down the highway...

Default Sunroof Air Seals

Hey Everyone,

it's been a while since this topic has been talked about...Anyways...A few months back I had a problem with the sunroof sounding like it was "leaking" air...such as hearing the air seep through when driving 55+mph.

I did "reset" my sunroof and it fixed it but now it's coming back...I tried to reset the sunroof again and it doesn't seem to fix it. I believe the weather seals are naturally being worn down...could this be?! Is there a visual inspection that I can do to VERIFY that the weather seals need to be replaced?!

if anyone has done this...could you please tell me how much is cost in total?

Thank in advance!
