Just found this on Eastwood's website, looks awasome for use at shows to keep from getting overspray on the rim.

My sponges always seperate the black from the yellow part after a few uses, I've been using a dedicated microfiber towel and some nitrile gloves. Some people must still use spray though, or they wouldn't be selling it. Quick question, do you move your car forward after doing the tires to get the last part that was covered from tire being deformed at the bottom from vehicle weight? Also, do you do the tread? That always worried me since you'll get no traction until it wears off, wish they made a product for the tread that didn't make them slick.

They are the wrong type, I suggest a no mess applicator or a high quality sponge.

Gloves are always good, the are cheap.

very true, but the same people are either too lazy or don't understand car care, how many people do you know that use that one very famous product A****** the same people that ask, why after 1/2 mile my side panels are FULL of that staff
I know MANY of them ,they buy because is inexpensive, way to care for your investment

For us is the same either way.

HA ,that's the secret ,there's NO ONE single product outthere that you can fill the tread, won't sling and won't affect traction, the secret ,stay away from the tread part !
I hope that helps, I have taken the liberty to post the following so you have a better idea
Here’s an example of the difference between a good tire care gel and the average product that some of you use.
This time the test mule is our 85ft rig.
Condition of tire after driving 900 miles, dull and dirty, one particular tire had been previously protected with a well known brand.
Tire Preparation
First Step following some simple directions using our Tire and Wheel Brightener
Spray onto a cool wheel, let set for about one minute, and then agitate with a sponge or soft brush to activate the formula for even better cleaning. Rinse thoroughly. For heavily soiled wheels, process may need to be repeated.
Turbo Wax Wheel Cleaner and Brightener is unique in that it actually cleans the wheels without acids or other harmful chemicals, some of which can and will cause spotting or peeling of the clear coat on the wheels. Works well on plastic wheel coverings as well. If accidentally sprayed onto vehicle finish, just wash off, no harm done. Product is also pH-balanced and formula will not stain clear coats.
Turbo Wax Tire and Wheel Brightener sprayed on Tire and Wheels

The following tire was protected with a well known brand of tire shine, all the gloss was gone on both of the products ours and them, however after our tire and wheel cleaner product had settle I took the following picture, you can clearly see all the chemicals residue coming to the surface, on the second picture you don’t see the same effect since that tire was previously protected with our tire gel.
Leading brand

Ours

Tires after been wash

The tires were protected with our Tire Gel, 2 coats were applied for a deep shine.

And the same on all other tires, and no SLING!!!!!

That thing belongs on a rabid dog.
No, get a good sponge, some disposable runner gloves, and spray the juice on the sponge and apply by hand.
Let sit for 15-20 mins.
Keep the sponge in a Ziplock baggie.
Toss the gloves.
Perfection.

Well, the sponges I was using came with the tire gel, Meguiares or however you spell it, so I'm sure thy are cheap, microfiber does a much better job. I don't coat the tread, but driving to a show it can get dirty, I need a way to clean the tread at the show or it looks weird next to the shiny sidewalls.
You showed the rim cleaner, there again is my issue. I don't have a hose or water available at shows, so I need something spray on, wipe off, not wash off. I've been using invisible glass on the rims, seems to work the best so far without leaving residue.
No offense turbowax, but I think you're suggestions will be slanted to the products you are offering in this market; just don't see you suggesting turtle wax ICE even if it would do a good job (I don't know, haven't tried it). I've never had an issue with the sling condition you reference, so can't really relate to it.

Is all good,
as a forum sponsor and business owner how can I reccomend another brand ?? If is a good brand more power to them, I know my products......... how they perform and such.....
theres a LOT of products on the market and MANY are not good, take that leading brand on those pictures I just posted, that is just one example.
Is all about choice, I was just trying to help........... with your questions.

No problem, wasn't trying to take a shot at turbowax, just saying their recommendation would be pretty obvious. I may try some of their stuff for the spring wax once the cold weather ends.
I still need to find something to clean an alloy rim at shows that doesn't need water, any suggestions? I'm using invisible glass window cleaner right now, it seems to be the only thing that doesn't leave spots.

Is all good, Imagine you go to the Scion dealer and the salesman's tells you that across the street on that other dealership they sell some real nice Evos
I'm just trying to help out nothing else, so no worries from our end

That is a problem, if the rim has ANY dust or ANY dirt anything you use to clean them may scratch them, at least that is what we have found on some tests that we have done, my best suggestion will be to clean and polish the wheels, wax them, and put a coat of spray wax, "your particular brand of choice
" once you get to the show and before you park you may be able to quickly rinse them, at least to take the dirt out, one big mistake many people do is to prepare the car at the house including the tires, then when they drive to the show the staff is all over the rim, we always dress the tires last at the shows.
if you find such product let us know so we can do our own test

How long does a can of that staff last ? I know is a spray can ? we have reports of over 25 applications with our tire gel out of a 4oz bottle, so a 16oz bottle can last..................... sometime
I'm not sure how you keep the product away from the rims if is applyed by spray can, not only that brand any brand ? Maybe that's why they invented the "Rim Shield" after all
again is all about choice
