Default Better Gasolines

With gas prices going crazy many of us including myself have been shopping around for the best price on gasoline. I just got back from a trip to Texas and was buying Shell gas and their ad about their gas doing a better job of cleaning my engine caught my eye. So I decided to do some checking into their claim. Well there is something called, "Top Tier Detergent Gasoline" that some of the gasoline companies are now selling. It contains many cleaners to keep your engine cleaner than other gasolines. Rather that me trying to explain all this here are some links that explain this and list the companies that are selling the better gas.

Dozens? I just wonder how many have even heard of Top Tier Detergent Gasolines let alone think of doing a search for information on them here. Oh, and yes I do know where and how to do a search!

I would say just stick with shell gas
Of all the engines i have torn apart and headgaskets i have done the people who run shell gas only usually have a lot cleaner combustion chambers

Besides the spelling, I don't know. I would use any of the gasolines listed as being a Top Tier detergent gasoline. My personal experience is it's easier to find Shell stations where I live and travel. In fact the only Top Tier gasoline in my small town is a Circle K that sells Shell gas. In Phoenix and on my resent trip through Oregon, California, New Mexico, and Texas, Shell was the most visible. The Top Tier gasolines do more than just clean the injectors, they help keep junk from building up where the fuel travels and in the combustion chamber, the intake, and exhaust ports.
