Default Toyota Diagnostics Tool ?

is there some type of toyota diagnostics tool that consumers can use to check engine codes, and what not?

i want to make a couple changes to the car if they are available.

examples:
1 click = unlocks all doors
horn beep = alarm engaged
20+mph = doors lock

also is there a way to open the doors from the inside when the doors are locked? in other cars, you can still open the doors from the inside without having to unlock the doors.

Diagnostic tool is not going to do any of that stuff. All the programming can be done by various bizarre opening of door pushing this button, closing door, etc.. sequences. Horn beep I heard was on 2005+ plus cars, I'm sure there is some way to do it.

And what do you mean doors unlock from the inside. When I pull on the handles of any door in my car when they are locked they will open right up when I pull on the handle.

I'm going to go to the Toyota database and see if anything about this pops up.

I want to use the diagnostics tool to check for any engine error codes for future reference instead of going to the dealership all the time.

If my door is locked, and i try to pull the handle from the inside, my door still remains locked and i cannot open it. I find it frustrating to have to unlocked it via the power locks. My car is a 2k5 by the way and its an xB.

At first I thought it was a child safety feature, but I quickly found out there was nothing like that. All my other vehicles you were always able to open the door by pull the handle twice.

I think most all new Toyotas open when you pull the handle. I would take it to the dealership, maybe one of the cables inside the door fell off or something.

Actually, the TOYOTA DIAGNOSTIC OBD 2 tool can actually progam many things on your car. That what we use at Lexus.

I know that thing can do a lot of stuff, more than most people will probably ever know. Only thing I ever programmed with it is registering security chipped keys into it.

Well first you would need the tool and unless you work at a dealership I don't think you want to pay the ridiculous amount it probably costs, I'm sure they are worth $1000.
