With all of the new car feelings aside, I am very glad that you got out of the "highway" situation safe. On the note of a new car and reimbursement, I hope you get every freaking dollar out of that dealership, clean every employee's wallet out.
Sucks to hear about your situation but in time you will have your new car. the funny thing is I have never dealt with that orlando dealorship but have many bad things about them.
thanks everyone, i appreciate the concern
hey guys, it just got even better
apparently, while my car was in the hands of the dealership, my car has been cought by 4 different SUNpass toll booths that claim my car didnt pay the tolls
i got fined $40 per toll
and Toyota of Orlando is denying EVERYTHING!
dispite the fact that i proved that the dated "toll photo" was on the days that the dealership had my car!
some mechanic or service dude was driving my car on the 408...
...why are they driving my car on the 408?!?!
THIS JUST WONT END!!!

WHAT??? I have never signed anything when I drop my car off.
i dont sign anything either when i drop off the car
for now, i'm just keeping records of everything:
- service receipts
- toll booth tickets
- calls made directly to Toyota
- and all the arbitraition paperwork
and to think, this all started because someone over at Toyota of Orlando installed my 6-disc in wrong...
my lawyer is calling me on Monday and he'll set up a meeting with the judges of the county in order to resolve this in the best outcome for me
it seems like the state wants me to own this dealership also...

Just so you know, its almost impossible to hook up a line out converter wrong, even if you do, its not going to blow anything up, it might blow a fuse on the radio, but seriously what a stupid reason for all this.
read through this, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act and show them the papers on this, and you shouldnt have any problem getting it warranteed. they really have to prove that it was the line out converter. i guarantee they cant prove it.

I went to the dealership, dropped my keys off, they did what they had to do there. I paid for the parts. Signed the reciept and left.
please keep us posted, own them my freind, I would even call channel 9 news and fox 35, have them do one of them consumer investigative reports, I would love to see your story in the news.
Im almost 100% postive that they would pick up your story, if your gonna own them brother, go all out!

A buddy of mine took his 300Z twin turbo to the local dealership years ago to do something simple, can't remember what exactly now.
It was highly modified, about 400hp to the rear wheels, etc.
To make a long story short, some wrench jockey took it out for a test drive, the streets were wet, and he looped it into a telephone pole boosting the heck out of the car (no way to loop any car in a 25mph zone to do the damage this car got).
Car was totalled.
Had to go to court.
What did he get in the end? Kelly Blue Book on the car, plus all the receipts for the aftermarket parts he had.
He didn't "own" the dealership, he got what they wrecked... the car plus his rental car bills, etc.
Lawsuits aren't "punishment" for people who make mistakes (as clearly this wrench jockey did at the Nissan dealer).
They're legal actions to recover the $$$ that was lost/trashed/stolen etc.
Are you even sure what's wrong with your car right now? Maybe there's a loose battery terminal, and the car cuts out?
Maybe it's something very simple, instead of this sinister plan you seem to think...
Yes, dealers are usually not the best at fixing things, and believe me I've had enough run-ins with dealers (especially Toyota dealers) to know to avoid them like the plague... but I really think this is being taken out of proportions.
So what exactly IS wrong with your car?
Have you filed any complaints yet with the BAR in your state? (Does Florida have a Bureau of Automotive Repair? That's what California's first level of customer protection/licensing is for automotive repair shops)?
But having a car cut out and die on the freeway after a repair shop has worked on it?
Yeah, you'll get your tow money back, and rental car receipts back, and most likely the dealer will identify what ever problem your car currently has... but that'll be about it.
Lawyers or not. TV news reporting or not.
That's the realistic outcome to your situation.... and I speak from years of experience (including engaging Corporate owners for mistakes that their dealers have made... Toyota, Chevrolet, and Toyota (for Scion).
The world doesn't work like you wish it would sometimes, and this is simply a mistake the dealership made (possibly) to have put you in your current situation.
But hey, if I'm wrong, I'll make sure to hold you to the free parts once you own the dealership. And if you don't follow through, I'll sue YOU, for not following through with what you promised the members of ScionLife...
