Under carriage damage. Will it cause problems?

Under carriage damage. Will it cause problems?
As i was going to school this pick up truck cut me off on the highway.
When he cut in front of me this pipe shaped object fell out of his bed
and went under my car. It it the underbody pretty hard and this is the
damage it created. Anyone know if it will cause any problems ? Its on the rear passenger side btw.
