Default Water marks caused by mirrors....

Ok. I know the heading is a little confusing so let me explain. I try to wash my car every week and try to dry everywhere that water may creep out of later. One spot that has proved elusive is the rear view mirrors. After I wash and dry I take the car for a drive, say a half hour later, and water creeps out from behind the mirrors. How do you all handle this problem. I know I'm not the only one, I see other boxes with the same problem.

Yea, either use some kind of blower or compressed air or once it seeps out and dries, go over it with some quick detailer and a microfiber cloth

I open and close the doors a couple times with the doors and window shut. The air pressure built up on the inside forces the water out and can be dried off before you drive it. Sometimes I just wait till night time to wash so it will finish drying overnight. If you have the water drips just hit with detail spray and get rid of them.

After you finish washing, but before you start drying, fold a paper towel and stick it inbetween the mirror and the housing on the bottom. By the time you're done drying off the car, the paper towel will have absorbed all the water in the housing.

That sounds a lot easier than using a leaf blower.

I don't dry by towel anymore. All i use is my wet/dry vac that doubles up at a 265mph blower. Car is dry in 10 minutes with no leaking afterwards.

Compressed air does not help, I used it and water still crept out. Don't laugh, but I've been using an ex-girlfriend's blow dryer. Not only does it blow the water out, it heats what left over so it evaporates.
