Water spots and paint staining
Hi All,
New owner of a Black Cherry XA- 2weeks. Noticed on the first hand wash that on the rear hatch just below the window on right side continuing around the side of the car along the top "lip" are a number of stains along that ridge. Cleaned up the stains with some polishing compound then applied a good coat of wax along the edge. Today I checked the car (it rained yesterday) and again staining along that ridge but only on the right side. Anyone else experience this ? Its like a curse that keeps coming back, maybe just water spots, maybe just on black cherry pearl.....seems strange!
Loving the XA ! (except for the spots)
John

Thanks for your reply. Looked at the rear hatch again and it might be the windshield washer fluid dripping onto the ledge around the window. When you squirt WW fluid onto the back window it kinda dribbles down the center, then the wiper swipes it to the right-side of the window. thats why the staining is only on the right-side......maybe not...gotta start thinking about something else....springs...goldline springs...yes cupholder lights are usefull.

#1 rule... no washy in sunlight, shade only and dry thourghly.
#2 Store inside and don't let it get rained on then dry in the sun. SUN IS VERY BAD ON CHEAP PAINT
#3 No carwashes... paint is too soft to withstand the abuse. refer to #1 BY HAND
If you do get waterspots meguires scratch fix does a good job of removing them. Just follow up with some quality wax.
Mine is BCP also and is giving me FREAK'N fits with scratches from just drying it off

Thanks for all the tips. Car is unfortunately stored outside, moms 92 Buick Century gets the garage. Tried the "Mr. Clean" no water spot system. It actually works pretty good but low and behold---spots right under the back glass on that rim, spots might be too kind- surface corrosion is more like it...gonna try to post a picture of the area. The only thing i can think of is maybe salt-water contamination from transport.
Thanks - John
PS - car survived the Cross Bronx Parkway over the GWB and back, did pretty well and one or two teeth clinching moments!
