If your out in Sunny Cali, i would wait about 6 months. Let the xB sit in the sun and bake for as long as you can. Plus, the original clear coat should do fine repelling water and stuff. Just make sure you use a quality car wash, one with lots of suds to remove and hold the dirt away from the car while you wash. Oh, and besure to soak the car thoughly before washing, just an added advantage.

you can wax the car when ever you want, but i would do it as soon as possible to protect the finish. i waxed my car the first week i had it. you don't need to wait for the paint to cure since it is baked at a higher temperature then when you do an aftermarket paint job. the good thing about waxing now is that you can leave out a few steps, such as clay bar or a scratch remover since the car is new and have a need for it at the time.

I was told to wait 3 to 4 weeks before the first soapy wash and the wax. I read on a detailing website that you should use a clay bar on your new car first, to remove things like metal shavings, rail dust, brake dust, insects and other pollutants that may have imbedded in the paint prior to being able to wax it.
