Default What am I doing wrong?! LOL! Huge Pic Warning!!

Okay guys, I know I'm retarded but the xB needed a washing so I took it to a carwash. I vacumed the inside, wiped it down...the inside looks awesome!
Then I took into the bay and used "Presoak" first, then I used "High Pressure Soap", then I rinsed it, then I used a microfiber cloth and attempted to dry it. I didn't use a brush or anything but this is how it turned out:

I used "Mothers" on the wheels, and the wheels came out awesome!!

I live in an apt. complex so I have no access to a hose. Is there a better way I could do this?

yeah...use the brush or bring your own, so you could actually get the dirt out. you're just spreading the dirt around by rinsing and wiping

You were smart not to use the car wash brush. Never do that. Alot of people are telling you to bring your own wash mit or bucket, but if the car washes in your area are like around here, they have big signs up telling you that's not allowed. You will always get better results if you can wash by hand with a good sponge or wash mit. But if it's too cold and that's not an option, using the "spray only" method is a good back-up. It kinda looks like you need to rinse better. When you turn the dial to "Rinse", make sure all the soap has cleared out of the hose and gun, and rinse really well.

You took to long to dry, or you did the wash in direct sunlight.

Microfiber towels aren't absorbant enough, you're just spreading it out. Get The Absorber. Wet it, wring it out and dry your car off all the way. When it starts to leave wet streaks like above, wring it out and continue. Use it like a chamois. hold one corner in your hand, spread the other end out over the paint and pull it along with the front corner while applying slight downward pressure to the wide end. Repeat as needed until there are no more droplets. Once you've chamoised most of the water off, you can just wipe and dab with The Absorber to get the rest out.

Don't forget to wipe out your doorjams and such with a towel when you're done drying the outside.

Something I learned just recently from my good friend with an S2000. Go buy a leaf blower. I've used it twice in the past 3 weeks and its the best way to dry your car. Especially if you wax it cause the water will blow right off. I've been religiously cleaning/detailing my car for the past 5-6 years of my life (ever since I owned a car) and a leaf blower is by far the funnest and best ways to dry your car after a wash. There is no possible way you can scratch your car and the water in the little crevices of your car such as the door handle are blasted out with air.

You could always buy some waffle weave microfiber towels. More absorbent than regular MF's.

Thats too funny -- I use a leaf blower too. I need to get down to sears or home depot and buy a compressor tho. Cant air check tires with a leaf blower . Anyone
ever notice how the mirrows always seem to hold water in them. Even using the leaf
blower water still comes out of the mirrors when I drive the next day -- Rats!!
Thank goodness for quick detailer

you could always try ProtectAll's Quick and Easy Wash. Add one ounce of this liquid to a gallon of water and that one gallon can wash an entire car. No rinsing is necessary. it's perfect for people who are stuck at apartments and such where hoses are unavailable.
