Default xB Automatic + 4700 miles = Transmission Leak = Fun?

Well i backed out of the driveway to see a small puddle of fluid. So i checked it out.....Transmission fluid. Lovely right, so i jack it up and its leaking from the main casing. So looks like i will be taking a trip to the dealer tomorow. Has anyone else had this problem. Or do i get to be the first one to experience this. By the way, the enging is bone stock, and has not been touched at all.

Probably a porous casting in the tranny case. Probably will just put in a new tranny. Bummer but not too hard to fix, should only take a day or two.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~scott

Taking it in to the dealership first thing in the morning, no matter what it is, its still going to be a serious b@#$h. At the very least they will have to pull the axles, and then the tranny. The cause though, is what concerns me the most, especially seeing as nothing was hit.

But they probably dont have xB trannys in stock

They will have to over night parts from Japan!!!!!

But yea if it they say longer than a week, and you can see no damage i would call that car a lemon and get a new one( if you can return that xB in near stock condition)

Turns out it's a leaky drive axle seal where it meet the transmission. Special order part obviously, as they dont stock that kinda stuff yet at the dealers, so i have to wait till next week.

Finally got the seal in at the dealer, took the box in, so far so good, doesnt seem to be leaking anymore, and of course it was all warranty work.

Its been awhile since I took calculus, but I don't believe an equation can include 2 equal signs... before I figured THAT out, I had been trying to calculate the meaning of this title for hours.

Shouldn't it be divided by a tranny leak...

Good to hear it was nothing too mysterious. That's what the warranty's for, right...

I am having this same problem except its not leaking puddles just a nice wet spot under my tranny on the drivers side where the drive axle is. It runs good and all so Im thinking its the seal too but I guess we should find out tomorrow. I really hope its nothing major cause I dont wanna wait more than a week to get my car back. I just got new mods and I will miss it. Will they give me a rental by the way? Oh and I am at 4800 miles. I drive it good too and take it easy most of the time. Has a lot of miles for only having it a few months but what can I say I love my car. Im not some stupid kid who races every single car he comes up against or constantly revs it in park. I actually never do that! lol
