Default XB Windshield Question

i have a rock chip that is starting to spider on my windshield, i want to replace it but i'm unsure of what are the dots around the edge of the glass, do they serve any purpose that i have to get the same glass, or thats just a scion thing? thanks

If your insurance is paying for your windshield, I would insist on an OEM Toyota windsheild. Because, after all thats what your xB came equipped with from the factory.

I had to fight my ins. co tooth and nail to get mine replaced with OEM toyota. But you can never tell it was swapped out either. So it was worth the fight!

The dots are decorative...

(The ones near the mirror help protect the driver from a little bit of glare from bright sky when looking at the mirror, though.)

Both 'aftermarket' windshields I have seen for the xB have the same dots around the edge that the factory windshield does.

Of the two 'brands' I saw, the "Fuyao" windshield fit MUCH better than the "Pilkington" one did.

Insurance prefers the aftermarket glass due to a couple hundred dollar difference in price for the glass...

thanks, i thought the dots are some kind of heating element or an antenna.. it just seems like the xb's winshield catches everything, it figures coz of the up right design.
