yellow microfiber towel
Here's a great tip for you guys.
Never use any kind of fabric softener for any of the rags you use on your cars body.
The softeners contain chemicals that may not rinse out well and damage your cars finish.
Also, softeners lessen the ability of your fabrics to absorb water.
If possible, wash your rags with clear liquid detergent, not powdered. Again, to prevent scratching. Also, some people think that the dyes in the other detergent can affect their finish. I don't know about that, but it couldn't hurt to use the clear stuff.
I try not to use anything on my cars body except 100% cotton. USA or Egyptian cotton. I also cut off the edges of my towels to prevent the edges from scratching the finish. Believe it or not, they actually make cotton microfiber now.
I have used both the "blue" and "yellow" microfiber towel packs, and they work fine though. I do cut off the labels though. I use mine many times, washing between each cleaning session. If I drop it though or use it to wipe off bird crap or something abrasive, it turns into a tire/wheel rag. Sucks. It gets expensive doing that.

Yup the blue ones from Sam's are great!!!! I have used them several times...just wash with a little regular detergent with no softener and then dry on low heat with no dryer sheets and they practically come out brand new. Can't beat 18 for like 10-15 bucks!!!
good lookin' out Wile! Fab softener clogs the strands of cotton in the towel. Thus making the towel less absorbent. Try washing one with fab soft and one w/o--you'll pick up more water with the one with no fab soft.
^^ true with cotton. But fab softener will clog up microfiber towels and lose its static ability

Haven't seen any problems
Wash and dry
Look at my detailing pictures... no problems
Believe what you read or see for yourself.
I am always amazed how much static remains in the towels after washing them.

amen reagulator. maybe TMM needs to learn how to do some laundry!
And when did towels come in a thread count?
That IS silly! Its obvious TMM "doesn't know how to use fab softener."
