PS I use a products called TSP and SF when washing my MF towels Use HOT hot

I also use these when I break down jeans for actors like, Eric Bana, Drew Barrymore, Ben Affleck... etc.

SF is organic and softens fabric better than your regular WalMart Blue goops.

hehe, oh yeah. What must be good for Drew's jeans MUST apply to my car's finish. ;) Sorry. I'm trusting the Zaino guys on this one. Why would I want to break down my towels?

Oh and yeah, I do see it for myself. I experimented with my towels, and the ones without fabric softener will last longer and absorb better.

If you get good cotton or good microfiber, they should not stiffen or harden when washed and dried.

You wash, with detergent and softener
Wash again

What is so tough about this?

Softening the microfiber (poly) is beneficial at least for my applications.

The yellows are the best. Any others with the little fabric ***** are weak.

I like the yellow ones. I just picked up another pack at Costco. I try to only use new ones for the paint and then after they get used some, the get demoted to other parts of the car and garage. Be sure to cut all tags off and get them close. We get a lot of leaf particles and stuff blown into the garage and the stuff really sticks in the micro weave so that's why I'm hesitant to reuse on the paint, even after I wash them thoroughly. I believe the package says not to use fabric softener... But I'm a believer in doing what works for you...

Fabric softener or wax... if you go by these rules you should only use it once.

Cut the hem off too.

CARE OF MICROFIBERS
If the towel becomes too soiled, it will also begin to "streak". It is then time to wash the towel. This is easily done by just placing the towel (or any other microfiber cleaning product) into a washing machine and then washing with your favorite soap or detergent. The only restriction in the wash cycle is to NEVER use any type of FABRIC SOFTENER. The towel will treat the fabric softener as if it were soil. It will try to store the tiny particles of the softener in the towel fibers and may cause the towel to be less effective.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two (2) Cobra Microfiber Wax Applicators (4” x 6”) make applying wax, dressings and polishes easy and neat. These high quality pads spread product evenly for streak-free finishes, and they absorb excess product so it doesn’t run or drip. You can use these pads on any surface with any product. Use them dry for dusting or add just a little water to wipe away stubborn grime. The ends of each individual strand are split, which provides even more surface area for spreading products. To clean these pads, machine wash, squeeze out excess water and air dry. Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Once you try these useful microfiber applicators, you’ll find hundreds of uses for them around the house and garage..

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ultrafine Microfiber Cleaning Cloth

The ultimate reusable cleaning/dusting fabric cuts cleaning time by 30% while being safer on fine finishes than any other textile or chamois.

Finer weave than our Microfiber Cleaning Towel is perfect for detailing, faceshields, glasses, camera lenses and other fine optics
Will not streak or scratch fine surfaces
Works wet or dry, with water or chemicals
15"x15" ultrafine fabric is safe on all finishes
Machine washable (no fabric softener)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you read the care tag on most microfiber products, it clearly states "Do Not Use Bleach", "Do Not Use Fabric Softener" and "Do Not Wash In Hot Water". Bleach will quickly destroy the microfiber fabric by causing it to pre-maturely break down. Fabric softeners clogs the microfiber strands, reducing absorbency and cleaning ability. Hot water causes the microfibers to shrink, reducing absorbency and softness. Fortunately, there are good alternatives to bleach and fabric softeners when cleaning microfiber products.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Micro Fiber washing instructions:
Hand wash with dish soap in hot water or machine wash with laundry detergent. Do not use bleach (bleach will shorten the life of your micro fiber cloths.) Do not use fabric softener (fabric softener leaves a film on the cloths.) Be careful when machine washing or drying in mixed loads (micro fiber cloths will pick up lint from other fabrics.) Air dry or put in dryer on low heat. Fabric dye may bleed during first washing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is always desirable to wash a new microfiber towel before use to remove any loose micro filaments that may be still on the towel from the manufacturing process. For best results always wash the micro fiber separately from other towels. The towels will attract lint in the wash water from other fabrics which can leave lint residues.

Machine wash using regular cycle with any mild detergent in warm water (less then 90' F) Do not use fabric softener, "softener sheets" or bleach. Fabric softener and bleach can coat the microfibers and make it ineffective by clogging the internal pores of the fiber. The towel can be machine dried on low or line dried. Do not iron microfiber towels

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry dude, Six for Six web pages say NO SOFTENER.

Careful with the yellow stuff. I think whatever process they
use to dye it yellow makes it rougher then other MF cloth.
See my sticky in the Maintenance section about MF cloth.

I'd have no problems using it to dust the interior or do glass
though. But so far, bang for the buck, the Sam's club (Which
is also the same is Walmart) is good stuff! I use it over my
whole BOP box without issue.
