i got mine in yesterday. It looks really nice. A question about the $300 credit card thing...what if you have a credit card but you only had say a $300 limit on it? Do they charge that right away or is it if you only purchase things (room service, take towels lol, etc.) ???

 

if you don't use anything room service, steal stuff, other then the shampoo and soap I'm sure, they won't charge anything to it, I believe it said that somewhere in one of the threads earlier

 

On credit cards, hotels usually don't actually "charge" the card unless/until there is a legitimate reason to, but the DO place a 'hold' on a fixed amount to ensure that they will be able to charge if need be.

What this means is that the 'limit' on the card is reduced by the amount they 'hold' so that no one else is able to get a charge in ahead of theirs.

If your card has a zero balance and a $300 limit, if they place a $300 hold on it, you will not be able to charge anything anywhere else, even though the hotel has not actually "charged" anything to your card.

I personally don't know of any way around that.

i'm in the same boat as you...my bf and i were both 3rd wave and have our event tickets, but no plane info yet.

 

lol...i just bought a new suitcase this week, and i did the SAME thing when i brought it upstairs....put the packet and my flight confirmation in the pocket great minds think alike!

 

Uh, I don't know if it's just me, but with the vast increase in "misdirected checked luggage" these days there is NO WAY I would put my packet in anything but my carry-on...

I don't plan on bringing anything but my carry-on. I don't know how long i'll be walking around Miami until it's time to fly back... so the less carried, the better.

Yeah, i emailed them yesterday but i probably won't hear back until next week sometime at the earliest... we'll see...

 

the hotel will hold all of your luggage for you until you are ready to head to the airport....i asked ;)

Oh! Another note on credit cards: Those of you with low limits might want to stop in person at your bank and explain that you won a trip to Miami and that the hotel - which is pre-paid - will put a $300 hold on your card "just in case" to cover potential room service, etc., and you are wondering if they could increase your limit a bit so you can actually use your card a little bit while there if needed.

Worth a try, and talking with the branch people, even the manager, is sometimes easier than trying to convince the anonymous folks on the phone.

DJ Haul is a DJ sponsored by Scion. He was on one of the Scion Sampler CD's called DJ Haul and Mason, they were pretty good on the CD. Never heard them live, but Scion has pretty good stuff, so I doubt it will suck!

 

ok, cool. youre right, I doubt it will suck plus, with a free bar I dont think anyone is going to care anyway!

Is it like house or trance type techno or is it more upbeat?
