My friend just picked up a Cobalt SS Supercharged and were both a little curious. I have an 07 TC with the usual I/H/E. I was wondering do you guys think I stand a chance. The specs ive seen on the car tell me no.
yeah, get a supercharger, you might stand a chance, but there are some advantages to the cobalt ss supercharged.
1. engine and transmission gear ratios were made specifically for the supercharged application, while the tc's engine and transmission were made for the N/A powerband, and when supercharged, only the ECU reflash changes, the engine and transmission were still not specifically designed boosted applications.
2. the cobalt uses a better supercharger, a roots type, which is a better design than the tc's centrifugal design, which is because we don't have the layout in our engine bay to accomadate a different supercharger, plus nobody else makes one.

i have a friend with an ss supercharged and a 2.4 ss non supercharged. From riding in both of those and a tC, i can tell you that the tC would lose to both of them. But like drax said, put on a supercharger and you'll have a chance.
