I have a rim/tire question

I'm getting a TRD drop with 18x8 rims 38 offset

I dunno what tire size to get?
225/40/18?

the number 40 is how tall the tire sits on top of the rim right?
so 40 is more low profile tire than 55?

 

Yes...the 225 id the width, and the 40 is the height.

40 is lower pro than 50

The TRD drop on 18's is perfect, Thats what I lowered my GF RS1 on and with th Stcok 18's is a perfect fit

 

because the "stock" scion 18s are 18x7.5 with 225/40/18 tires

My rims will be 18x8 with 38 offset so I was wondering if I can put the 225/40/18 tires on them as well even though they are a little wider than the "stock" 18s

 

Nope. That's the reason I did when i was younger. Why did you start? And you can't say because you liked it b/c no one does when they first try it.

 

They should fit with out any problems.....1/2" should not be a prob......Anyone wanna back me up on this?
