Another reason not to...
Another reason not to buy a GTI.
One of my co-workers just took his new GTI in for it's first oil change, and was quite ____ed to find out that it cost him $70.00
And of course we had the which car is better discussion. The tC is "just a car that wishes it were a Celica." I of course told him to come talk to me when he getting his car back out of the shop again.

it cost $70 because they care about him, usually they give it to you dry but with him they charged him for the extra lube so it slides in better and he hopfully doesn't notice he's been done rough.
veedubs arent cheap to care for. friend of mine had an audi and loved it... til he found out that the 50k mile service was well over $600. he has a toyota celica now, lol

i think if im not mistake its a special tool required to remove the filter.... and never the less.... it still is a rip off.... the tool doesnt cost that much... its just a glorified wrench...
I was gonna say, what happened to the good ol vicegrip wrench? $hit, I get upset when the service checkup costs more than $80. Especially when most of the crap they do is like rotating tires, cleaning off brake dust, and checking fluid levels. All of which I can do myself for free.
