I didnt mention the word you are offended by, if i had, it would have been degrading to the mentally disabled if i refered to them also by this word. If you want to think Im using it as a slur agaisnt mentally disabled folks, i am sorry for that. I dont regard them in any way shape or form as the "R" word, since i have work with these people since i was little in special olympics and was a mentor to them throughout highschool. i see them as leaps and bounds above this guy. I have more respect and confidence in them then to call them by such names. If you wish to take what I said as me tryin to go around without actually sayin the whole word, then so be it. But I wont rephrase my comment. Unless a moderatoer chooses to do so.

 

its just the whole idea that scion is taking over most of the market share for teh younger drivers... some ppl have to just realize that its not the 1990's anymore and that k20 swaps are not for everyone... you will hear alot of ppl bashing on the scions due to their lack of hp but come on, who much hp do you expect to run after buying a car thats less than 20 grand? nowadays in order to stand your point driving a honda, you would either have to be on a honda bike or an civic si, but in all reality, its still a honda! someone will always find the time in their boring day to post about ricey car (like myself) but walk outside and find themselves driving a minivan(not myself...sometimes)... its just the hate bc all in all, scion is simply taking over... not only do they attract younger drivers but they also attract the older generation looking to haul their weekly groceries... its just funny how many ppl actually posted on there

It's okay to call someone who is mentally retarded, retarded. It's okay to say something's growth is retarded. These are the correct ways of using the word.

Using the word incorrectly, as an insult to someone, is offensive. This includes the shortened version "'tard" and any sort of variations of it.

I don't need you to rephrase your comment, all I need is for people to understand why and how the word is offensive. I don't lose sleep over the use of the word but I do want to give the heads up to people who use it that it's amazingly offensive to people, especially those with mentally retarded loved ones.

This is in no way something I've made up. This is common knowledge to many and can be researched on the internet if my word is not enough.

btw my brother has down syndrome and it is no way a bad thing, i can find many reasons why i love him for the way he is... plus i love seeing the look on his face whenever i let him ride in my car...

No cars that last 200k miles and get 30 mpg are awesome like civics, I got no beef with them, but even if the scion could last 200k miles, which they don't, It is impossible to respect them because of all those bs commercials they make with scions that make em look cool to todays youth. If they aren't meant to be performace cars then why do they advertise them that way?? thats why they are POS vehicles that have trouble going over speedbumps."
