Any computer experts here? (Apple specifically)
So I'm looking at getting a Power Mac so I can get my video company thing going. I'm basically going to get the Final Cut studio and eventually photoshop and a few other programs...Anyways, so my question is...would it be more beneficial for me to get the two 3.0gHz dual core xeon processors and get more memory (2 gigs) or get the 3.0gHz quad core xeon processors and get just the 1 gig of memory. I don't know which would be more beneficial for what I'm using the computer for, a little bit slower processor with more memory or a faster processor with a little less memory? Any help is appreciated guys and girls. Oh, and if anyone knows of where I can get one for cheaper than like 54564531 dollars that'd be awesome if you could share that info.
Here's my opinion, I'd get the 3.0 Dual and throw as much ram as you can in there. You can get ram cheaper from macsales.com, so don't worry about getting it from Apple. You'll get more benefit with more ram than the quicker processor.
For an example, I have a macbook core duo 2.0 with 2 gig of ram and I'm running photoshop cs3 beta. I also do my audio stuff on my g5 with 1.5 gig. Both are sufficient for what I need.
The mac pro is a beast, and it'll get happier with more ram.

One thing i thought of though was that if i get the one with the lesser amount of processor speed but more ram, i won't be able to upgrade the processor later on...but i would with the ram. Not to mention even if i could upgrade the processor it would more than likely be cheaper to upgrade the memory instead. thats kind of why i'm stuck.
