I rocked a Mohawk back in high school, I guess the last time it was cool. Egg whites are the only way to go. Nothing beats the hold, it will amaze you. I tried alot of gunk, but nothing else came close. It would hold for days if you wanted it too, plus it washed out real easy. Never had any flake problems either.

How ironic that this topic should come up. I met my little cousin's "boyfriend" and he was sporting a 1/2" mowhawk. I asked him about it and he said it was a dare in high school, he'll get $50 if he did it. Of course, he did it...
