Apparently GM didn't observe the failure of the Subaru Baja.

Isn't that what they called the El Camaro or the Trans Camino:

Sorry, moving too fast for that front angle...

Its only a small number of parts (relatively speaking) away from the G8 Sport Truck, or whatever its called.
I think it's because Pontiac is a failing brand and they need to put as much life and business into as possible. Same as Saturn with their new "new saturn" gimmick.

The GTO was nice, if not a bit overpriced. Can't complain about an LS2 engine, 0-60 in 4.6 sec and a 12.9 1/4 mi. Of course, it's last year was 2006, and the current line-up is less than inspiring. If I needed the functionality of the Vibe (the only half-decent car in the line-up) I'd buy a Matrix. The G5 just looks like a Neon, and 28k and up for a G8? That's edging BMW, Lexus and Infinity territory for a Pontiac.

28k for a G8 i'd rather pay 35k for the new IS. Even thos you can put an LS7 in a G8.

Whwn I had my Box at the drags, I saw a bonestock IS pull a 13.88 and he let off at the end because he didn't want to break 14 and have to find a helmet.

you mean he didn't want to break a 12 right? cause 13.88 is under 14.

No, he didn't want to break 14.00, but he did. He probably could've gotten another tenth or 2 faster.
