I had a bad feeling Apple was going to introduce something new in Jan..and well, here it is, the almighty iPHONE. I don't think I'm ready for this when it comes out in June. Not to mention, I am using Verizon, and I'll be stuck with them for another 2 years.

The iPHONE is cool knowing that you can scroll through stuff with ease. That iPOD is nifty too.

I'll just have to wait it off and buy these baby's when they're outdated. Probably the newer iPHONES will be out with a 20GIG HD, and it'll probably be thinner. I'll say that here and now..

I want one of these bad, but I have to stick with Verizon simply due to service issues. I heard initially that Apple took this phone to VZW and was turned down by them. I've been hounding a friend of mine that works in Cingulars marketing dept that helped Jobs launch this phone to let me see one and she can't even get one yet. I'm glad to see they're on schedule.

It's too expensive.... as in over priced.

But I do give it props on revolutionizing the handheld industry. By handheld I mean cell phones.

This can do wonders for the industry and I hope that there is a competitor out soon on the Verizon network. And there is a strong rumor there may be. Think the LG Prada phone.

By saying "cell phones" are you ruling out Blackberries? The iPhone is nothing more than a Blackberry with an integrated iPod. The only difference I see is that it comes standard with applications that you may have to download aftermarket for the Berry.

Don't take that the wrong way though. I'll probably get an iPhone eventually, once it's been out for a while and the bugs have been fixed....apples always have worms inside

Eh... I'm sure it will sell very well but I am not all that impressed. It's long overdue IMO. The technology has been there for years. Oooooo... a phone and mp3 player!? How awesome and new! :sarcasm:
I like to text and I don't konw about you but when I am entering my pin on those electronic touch screens at any store I have to press firmly 2-3 times on each dam number to get it to take. I hope that isn't an issue for these phones.

This thing is nothing like a BlackBerry. I use a BB at work, and while a great little tool it is very limited in functionality beyond email. I have every useful tool downloaded and installed on it but it's no where near the ease of use like an iPhone or Palm based Smartphone has. I'm only speculating on the iPhone based on videos and demos I have seen.

Also, I agree it's a smartphone with an iPod integrated into it, but it's much more multimedia friendly then 90% of the phones out there. The only fault I can see based on the specs and aside from the price, is that it's only using EDGE instead of 3G.

Good luck on the price going down to $200 (even within the next few years) as Cingular... er I mean the new AT&T has this thing locked up for 5 years.

I think that the iPhone will have a hard time seeing a price drop, unless of course they come out with a 10 and 20 gb nano and a 2 and 4 gb shuffle . . .

price doesnt matter really. people will buy it.

Ive already seen a few posts on this thread alone from people thinking about what they could sell to get the cash for one of these.

It will probably sell 10+ million units by the end of 2008.

Most analysts say it will do waaaaay more than that. And i agree, this phone revolutionalizes the user interface between a person and their mobile device,

Luckily i have cingular, i will probably pick one up by the end of the year.

Things will be interesting when the 29th rolls around. I wonder if it'll b madness like the debute of the PS3. I'm sure the this thing is really hyped up rite now and every teenager and his/her bff wants one, lol. I wonder how many ppl held off buying an regular ipod so they get this.

yea i'm wondering if the cingular stores will have people sitting out front of the stores waiting on the iPhone lol.

I will probably get one in a few years. i figure in order to afford a new iPhone you will have to sell a lung and your first born as well. so For now ill just buy everyones old phones for cheap lol.

I just talked to an AT&T rep on the phone and he (mistakenly i think) blurted out that the 4gb model will be $799 without a 2 year contract . . .
