The Beer Thread
not sure what you can get out in Vegas...the Dogfish brewery is literally in my back yard lol but some of my Dogfish faves are Theobroma, Sah Tea, and the summer seasonal Festina Peche. The first two I mentioned are ancient recipes one from south america and the other from egypt I think. Its kind of fun to try brews from way back in the day. You can read about them all on their website.

My go to beer is Yuengling!
I do like trying micro brews and foreign beers. There is a new restaurant called BJ's brewhouse that makes there own beers. There ocktoberfest was great. Also liked there American IPA. I got a sample of the Irish Red and it was good too. The Rock and The Ram restaurants also have great brews that they make too. Tiger beer is Singapore's national brew and its good as well as Kingfisher, India's brew. I plan to get a real brew kit and make my own once i get a house. I dont have the room in my apartment with my family. But I currently use a Mr. Beer kit my wife got me for x-mas last year and have made some tasty brews.

Dude I love BJ's Brewery! haha they have been out here in SoCal for years. That's what my gf calls our "go to restaurant". Pizza and beer is definitely a favorite combo of mine!
BJ's is great!! It's a shame they don't have them where I live now.
The other poster mentioned Yuengling, and that is a really good beer!! They don't sell it in KY yet, but a buddy of mine makes the trip to the beer stores in PA once a month and loads up his minivan with cases. He's sort of the local supplier for me and my friends.
For anyone who loves the dark/stout beers:
Guinness (of course).
Murphy's Irish stout.
Shiner Black.
Great lakes brewing- "Edmund Fitzgerald".
Yebisu- "Creamy stout" (my favorite, but only sold in Japan).
BJ's also has a stout that is pretty good, but not all locations have it.
Btw,
I love this thread. Keep the beer recommendations coming... Not that I need any encouragement to drink more beer.

I tried Fantôme Saison a few days ago, its a Belgian import. At first it had a really strong taste of apples and citrus with a few other things I couldn't really determine, so it was really fruit tasting and really sweet. After awhile it got a bit more bitter/sour while still maintaining that fruit taste. My GF thought that at this point it taste almost like champagne. It stayed really smooth through out the whole beer, almost as if it had no carbonation. It is really different from anything else I've tried but not bad, worth a try since this is a thread about trying new beers. It has 8% alc. but there is no alcohol taste to it.

thank you sir. Last week one buddy and I cracked a 2010 delirium noel, and followed it up with a 2011 noel. Liked the 2010 a lot better. the 2011 for some reason had a lot nuttier flavor. Im thinking of picking up a couple bottles of Delirium Noel 2011 to age until next christmas.
Just recently picked up a bunch of Sam Adams brews to throw in the cellar. New World, Thirteen Hour, and Infinium. Was lucky enough to score a couple bottles of DFH 120min IPA as well. Ive loved Goose Island brews since I tried them back in 09 at a beer tasting in NY, and havent been able to get them in PA. A friend of mine went to visit family in MD for the holidays, and she brought me back G.I. Matilda, G.I. Sophie, and G.I. Pere Jacques.
One beer my uncle got me hooked on that we cant get on the east coast is Alaskan Amber. He brought a case of 22s back with him when he came home from Juno Alaska after a brewery tour. He's down in Florida. I was down there a few weeks ago for work, and he popped his last bottle with me. I dont know what it was about that beer, but it was simply fantastic. He's had it stored for about 18 months before he opened it. Wish I could get some shipped out here.
