I am wanting to put a turbo on my tC this fall. However, if I decide to go big, say the ZPI Stage 1, I wouldn't want to try to control 300 horsepower on ice and snow. So if I turbo, I am going to want a cheap, probably AWD winter car. Just wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for a cheap winter beater.

I have thought about trying to find a mid 90's AWD Subaru.
Any others you can think of?

 

I would look for a 4wd suburban or p/u.

 

Any subaru will do unless you want a pick up. Also consider mid 90 cherokee.. Pretty cheap usually.

F it. Get snow tires. Its not like you are gonna be starting off at full boost everytime you pull away. (I duno maybe you will. ) Just my .02 I bought winter tires for this past winter and had no problems at all. . . just having to avoid all the over-confident SUV and awd/4wd drivers on the road.

I got an old Tracker last year for $1200 and it was a lifesaver.

 

4wd, regular cab Toyota P/U with the 22RE and 5-speed.
