BMW Owner rant.
ok just about everytime i see a bmw sitting or on the road. the damn front wheels are really dirty! like always! every one i see,a combination of brake dust and a leak from somewhere dripping onto it and splashing covering the wheel while spinning.
why is this? do these people think they're wheels wash themselves just because its a b m dub ya?
i would just like to know.

The pads BMW's use just generate A LOT of brake dust.
Sad thing is, some people don't realize brake dust eats away at your wheels, so they're only damaging their car even more.

You would figure if you spent the money to own a BMW you would wash it more then every couple of months. Most of the BMWs around here are always filthy, not just the rims. I agree though, around here even in the city, you see a ton of them with front wheels covered in dust, looks like crap.

Yup, my parents have had this problem with thier 2004 Mercedes C240, 1998 BMW 528i, and now their 2002 Saab 9-3 converti.
My dad found an article saying most high end manufacturers use softer brake pads for better stoping power, heavy cars, and that results in higher brake dust.
