Default Child care, proper discipline?

Most of today's generation thinks it's improper to spank children, as this was the preferred method of yesteryear. I recently heard from a friend who tried other methods to control their kids when they have one of "those moments". One method that she found very effective was to take the child for a ride and simply chat.

Surprisingly, the child calmed down and stopped misbehaving after their little outing together.

I've included the photo of one of those sessions with my friend's son in case you may wish to consider using the same technique.

Remeber kids, it isn't the speed that kills. It's the sudden stop at the end.

Ford. The automatic shifter gives it away.

Funniest part? Because of how high it is, it's obviously in PARK!

I don't think its wrong to spank your child, if its for discipline issues. Just dont be the living S*** outta em. Personally, my parents never touched me, but thats cuz i was a good kid.. But ya, i think researchers have concluded the method above was most effective.

Kids now a days need to be spanked hard to teach them proper repect. As a sales person who works in a cell phone business, I always see brats who took everything for granted.... ie:

Kid: Mom, i dun want this cell phone, they so ugly.... i want such and such cell phone.
Me: Mam, that phone is pretty pricy, and the reception through that company is not that great....
Mom: *still playing with the dummy phone but already made up her mind*
Kid: I dun care, I want that phone, even if it doens't have reception, I will still look cool with it.
Mom: Without reception, why do you need a phone?
Kid: Because who and who has it in class and they look cool with it.
Mom: *sigh*.... sorry, we'll be back

if I was the mother, I would not bow down to the kid like that..... freaking A, sometimes I wonder if it was the parents' fault for their spoiled kids....

You "wonder"?

My brother is 16 years old and so are most of his friends. One of these friends was given a brand new Lexus for his first car. What happens? Kid ripping through the neighborhood misjudged a corner and spun the car through a couple yeards and into a wall. Car is totalled. What does mommy do? Well, she's getting a new car and her son is getting her two year old Escalade. How about that for punishment?

Not trying to getting into ur business, but i would keep ur brother away from his friends to prevent them doing stupid stunts.....
As far as punishment goes, I don't think parents now a days have the idea on how to be a parents. Not to be offensive, but I got whopped if I am a bad boy. And of course, my parents spoils me - only if I am a good boy. As I turn 16, I started working and saving $$ for things for myself. And now you wonder? I am paying my own car, my cell phone, and paying for anything that I want to buy. Kids need to learn how NOT be a momma's boy.....

Yeah. I already warned him about riding in this friends car. So did our parents. And he wasn't in the car when it happened. He's a pretty good kid, and a lot more responsible than most of his friends.

Example #1 of how physical punishment works successfully:
You don't swear at grandma's house... Especially not at the dinner table. I let the S-bomb slip once on accident. I immediately found myself backhanded by grandma clear off of my stool and onto the floor. I never swore in front of grandma ever again, even to this day.

The whole not spanking thing is a crock of sh** . As a child when I misbehaved or didn't listen I was spanked...sometimes harder than others...but ya know what? I'm still alive, I'm not TOO messed up in the head and I'd like to think I'm somewhat of a decent human being...I say spank them if they're being naughty!
