Default Children of Men=Brilliant

Saw this movie last week, expands nationwide today. I must say it's easily one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. First off, the cinematography is absolutely brilliant. You really get sucked into the movie the way it's filmed. Alfonso Cuaron, the director, uses many one shot scenes, i.e. no cutting, just continuous filming that requires detailed choreography. One scene in a war torn city filmed in one continuous shot goes on for like 5-6 minutes and really stands out in my mind as suspenseful and captivating.

In case no one knows, the movie is about a future society where women have become infertile and the world has gone to sh*t. Clive Owen is a character that then has the task of protecting a young Fuji woman who has miraculously become pregnant. Clive Owen and Michael Caine really carry the movie with their excellent as always acting. Go see it!

Surprisingly enough this is one of the RARE movies that come out in Italy/Europe before the US. I watched in in Italy beginning of November.

OK, good for you! When I was in Tokyo there were movies out that were not scheduled for a couple of months later in the US
