Church Social Thread (will update title as topics shift)
author suggests this thread be used by religious members to network and discuss their faiths as they see fit
=not a thread for nonbelievers to rail against
BTW, I happen to be a non-believer and am quite disinterested in matters of faiths.
OTOH, I'd like to see a thread like this go on -unmolested- by busybodies. You ain't gonna change anyone's mind.. and why try to manipulate strangers that way, anyway??
"we" nonbeleivers have a thread for our purposes.

Give the believers their slack as well, please.
thanks,

Wow.... What a lame thread....
So, essentially the purpose of both threads is to solely expound ones perspective without contention from anyone.... Dangerous....
I wouldn't want my perspective to go out unchallenged, cause then I could say some absolutely errant and messed up and people wouldn't have the opportunity to address that incorrect logic and inconsistency? Sorry.... Don't think these are the best idea....

DONT! thats all i have to say...nothing good can come from this thread.
i for 1 believe the bible should be in the fiction section.
and me making that comment is going to spur some "believer" into making an arument. i say lock it now and let it go.

That's what I like...
The reality that people will contest faith and challenge it... as I would contest atheism in the same fashion...
I'm not too fond of the idea of discussing faith topics too much in a "ScionLife" forum, as there are far too many haters out there who aren't interested in the topic at all, and are mostly uneducated regarding philosophy and theology... which just corrupt any chance of a reasonable thread developing...
Issues of faith are much better left to forums which address them directly and establish rules in regards to those issues individually, as many of the Scionlife forum rules don't address issues that result from discussions of thought... which need their own unique touch of Moderators....

So far the only input I respect comes from WeDriveScions.
Point is, buckos-of-both-camps, by having discussions here and -semi segregating them and -making ground rule requests to not hate, derail or heavily detrack, we can all watch and see how the sides operate.
It is an opportunity to behave as refined people for a change here.
It is a chance to buck the odds and dispell the myth that religion and atheism, etc, can't be discussed in mixed company.
Prove me right in my hunch. This thread's title will be modified as the topic progresses, if it progresses.
Let this one thread, at least, be for easy-speaking between religious people, in its basis and not go
hamfisted into the gutter only to get locked.
Please??
