Default Cops don't like Carbon Fiber hood?

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I like CF stuff on my car and I've ordered CF lip kits and was going to order CF hood as well. but few people that I know told me that cops are gonna pull me over every time they see me if I have CF hood.
They said cops think I have illegal stuffs under the CF hood because it looks bling bling or something or they just want to. Well I have CAI which is illegal in my state (CA) so I don't wanna get pulled over because of CF hood and pop my hood (what if I don't have anything illegal).
Is this true? I know they can't just pull me over without the reason but if they find out my CAI, I'm in trouble. Of course pulling me over expecting illegal parts under the hood that a B.sh*t

Come on CF owners, ever got hassled by cops because of CF hood? or it's not a problem?

i was at a DUI check point and the cop pulled a Eclipse over just b/c he had a C/F hood. So it depends on the city and the cop. but they can legally pull you over at any time if they suspect a illegally modified car.

Yea, pretty much. I mean its just what they do. I get pulled over all the time for my car looking like it does living in Newport Beach where everyone drives Mercedes. So my car stands out like a sore thumb.

I didn't know C/F hoods are illegal in CA. I have friends who have C/F hoods and no cop has pulled them over yet.

They are not illegal at all. In fact they are 100% LEGAL. They just might give a cop probably cause to pull you over.

I believe CF hoods do attract cops. When I had my CF hood on over the summer I got pulled over a total of 6 times “not kidding” and now with my stock hood I haven’t got pulled over yet.

CF hoods are not illegal, but it is advertising you may have mods. Cops statewide are cracking down on sport compacts and illegal modifications right now (confirmed by Burbank PD and CHP), so if you have stickers, wild graphics, carbon fiber parts, widebody kits, front window tint, slanted mufflers or fart cans, yellow or blue forward lighting, etc... expect a visit from your local law enforcement for an "emissions check".

Keep it stealthy.

It's all part of the game. You mod, they check, ticket when they catch you.

While the situation isn't quite as dire here in 'Bama as it is in Cali... anywhere in the U.S., I think it's safe to say that cops generally just... don't like us and our "culture" in general.

Any exterior bits that attract attention will attract the cop's attention, too.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems logical that if one wants to get away with doing something unlawful, one tries not to attract attention...

Well around my area their not strict at all wit pulling ppl over for having a modified vehicle, but recently as part of the new year plan their cracking down on the tuners, giving tickets from modified exhaust to Unauthorized blue lights. Having a C/F Hood def grabs the cops attention now, as soon as u turn on to a little side street they pull u over and say i stopped u for "all the illegal THINGS" u have on ur car, now this is major bs. If they see u get nervous , they'll pound u wit tickets. I got pulled over 3 times in a weekend , they let me go on all because i know many cops in my area, and i tell them i wanna become a cop myself i just tell them ill see u in 3 yrs they giggle and say get outta here , Soooo yes cops r not big fans of C/F hoods and i cannot see myself pulling someone over for such stupid negligible things....

wow, ive been thinking on getting a c/f hood, since it might blend in with my FM tC, but maybe I should think about getting the Flexfiber version instead and use the diff towards paint.

Actually I think I'm gonna get the C/F hood, I've consulted with my State police Inspection officer and trying to get in touch with my dealer on the topic of inspection. I've saved $1,760 right now towards new parts and paint, but I've been writing up some questions and diagrams to send as a packet to my state inspection office. For advice on street legal parts and mods in Maine.
