Default Corvette gets owned!

Wow, found this while surfing today, wanted to show you guys why I don't trust dealerships, haha. Although if I worked somewhere that serviced supercars and exotics I don't think I could resist either! I know this is the wrong forum to post in but this gets way more traffic then the general forums so please move this stays here too long.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1581344

I brought it in for two small warranty items, a jammed trunk, and a bad antenna, on 12/19/06. and told them not to drive it off the lot, and the next morning, Gene B, an employee, took it on a ride and wrecked it, causing about $15,000 in damages to the front passenger side. The chp report #marin chp 9350, officer Pozzi, lists the driver as driving too fast for the conditions which caused the accident. An accident is something that's unavoidable. This was pure careless acceleration out of a turn, trying to pass on the right shoulder, into the gravel, and he spun out donut style, and got run down by some poor box truck, which was also damaged due to this guy's careless negligent driving. Now I'm going down to make my $829 monthly payment, and my new vette, is sitting in the body shop, wrecked. The dealer is refusing to replace the car or compensate me for the lost value on resale. It took two days to get a claim # and a rental. I found some drugs under the seat in an orange prescription bottle, codeine acetominaphane, and some other pills. My wife is heart broken. It has ruined our christmas. A lawyer will cost us $5,000. I have more pics but don't know how to post them. The dealer says his driver was not cited for reckless driving, but the police never do that unless they witness it, and even then, it takes 100mph in a 25mph zone for them to cite. It might help us for people to let the dealer know they bad publicity will prevent them from buying from that dealer. It will take 6 weeks for the car to be repaired, and we will not be driving it even after it is repaired due to the filthy nature of the drugs and the accident. This has ruined the car for us.

I got a reject back on this e-mail address; however, it is what they have listed on their site; however, this is supposed to be the service manager's e-mail address:

lucian.freire@sanrafaelchevrolet.com

The lucian email is the correct one. I spent christmas emailing hundreds of corvette clubs, asking for help in picketing the dealer. Those were the california clubs. Tomorrow I will work on the Nevada clubs. If this guy won't step up to the plate, our best option is to inform everyone out there what happened to us. The good new is, in 24 hrs, there have been 4890 views of the threads, in two forums, and several guys have emailed them without my urging them at all, which is the best thing we could hope for, to bury this guy in publicity. After I'm through with Nevada, I will start on Oregon and Washington and New Mexico and Arizona and Idaho and Montana, until I email the entire west coast net work of vette owners until we have some people willing to drive down and park in front of the dealer with signs we will make up, with pics and the truth. Filthy drugs in our vette. Filthy f______ body shop dust inside the engine compartment. The once clean alternator is already covered with bondo dust. The decent thing to have done is order us a new car and a rental the same day. It took two days to get a rental. I don't want a stinking hummer. I was happy with my car as it was. If he starts losing sales, and he will, that's the thing that will change his mind.

Oh.. .they WOULDreplace the car 100% one way or another, either out of a won lawsuit.. or fear for thier lives afterwards.

I hope to god they can get a lawyer and get this settled. This is why I dont like letting anyone work on my car. The guy should lose his job immediatley.

I hope he gets his car replaced. Id be doing the same thing, Cept Id email the entire country worth of vette owners.

Id take that car down, put it on blacks and leave it 2" from the service door.

That dealer needs to step up and take responsibility for their employee like the are legally obligated to.

Next, he needs to sue the dealer for lost appreciation, lost wages, rental reimbursment, mental anguish, and laywers fees.

Whatever dealer thinks they can get away with that is dead wrong.

I would accept nothing less than a brand spanking new Z06 and a public apology from the owner before I shut up.
