Default Is this a Craigslist Scam?

Okay so I posted up my wheels on Craigslist for sale and I get an email from someone that wants to buy, but it seems too fishy to me. This is what they emailed me with.

Hello
I really appreciate your response to my email.I want you to consider
it sold, pls do withdraw the advert from craigslist to avoid
disturbance.I want you to know that i will be paying via bank
certified check .I will like you to provide me with the following.
information to facilitate the mailing of the check to you .
1.....Full name to write on the check
2.....Full Physical address to post the check
3.....City, State and Zip Code
4.....Home & Cell Phone to contact you
*** Note that the payment will be shiped to your address via UPS NEXT
DAY SERVICE and I will like you to know that you will not be
responsible for shipping i will have my mover come over as soon as you
have cashed the check** Thanks

I told the buyer that I wouldnt sell the wheels under his terms, but instead if he went to the bank with me and deposited it into my account, in person cash, or paypal.. So what do you guys think?

I read threads on other forums where there was something similar and as soon as the buyer got the item, he/she canceled the check..

I've seen crap like that on there before.... very similar to that kind of verbiage as well. I'd raise the BS flag on that one... I did when I got responses like that on there when I sold a few things not to long ago.

I was selling my quad on CL a year ago and I got FOUR fuggin emails like that.

Except mine had foney names and everything, saying they would send me a bank check immediately after receiving my info.

Also look out for the scammers who aren't just scambots, but actual people. My mom was selling a ring for like 9grand and some guy messaged her asking if she had paypal, and when she said no the guy was nice enough to explain whats included with signing up, and finished off with saying that the way paypal worked is you send the item first, and upon delivery the paypal money deposits in your bank. You don't get to see the money till you send the item.

So she called me and I informed her of the way paypal actually works.

People suck these days

Tell me about it, when I saw the guy offered OVER my asking price just to get it out to him faster and he'd cover all shipping cost/arrangements I was like :O YEA BUDDY, lol

Then I did a quick search and my bubble went pop.

Hey OT but hows your brother like the wheels?

Hahaha yeah, it was a bad idea posting on craigslist,. i should just keep it on the forums.

He's loving them haha, i'll probably borrow them from him if i can sell my current wheels until i can get my rfp1's.

I would put them on Ebay. Pretty secure there, just wait till you can actually spend the persons cash before sending. Even when using paypal I wait till I have the money transfered to my bank, then I send the item.

Glad to hear he's happy with the wheels, I miss them every time I hit even a tiny bump and my tires rub the hole a little bigger in my fenderliners.

Absolutely a scam. I got a ton of those when I was selling my wheels on CL. I've found that if you sell anything over a couple hundred bucks, you'll get those.

Search "advance fee fraud" on google.
Very basic scam - depends on US banking laws to rip you off.

Also beware of id theft if they want all this info from you.
