Default Dale Jr Leaveing DEI...

Well, its official... Just saw the story on msn... anyone else not suprised?

more than likely Budweiser will go with him...

(Yes, I am praying that MWR will pick him up to drive a camry, although he has said he wants to stay in a chevy)

is this the end for DEI?

I thought nascar switched to a generic car and nobody drives a chevy/ford/toyota anymore... Was I misinformed?

^^The cars of tomorrow are just riced out versions of the Chevy, Ford, Toyota etc...They are still branded.

Idk about the end of DEI...Dale Jr hasn't done anything special to keep the company alive I think they make all their money off of merchandise nowadays.

the COT (car of tomorrow) is more alike across the brands, but they still retain the origional manfacture "looks"

the hoods and trunklids and roofs are production models, its just everything else that was skewed

Tony Stewart said it best...

"Without Dale Jr. at DEI, its is just a museum. "

1. not riced... the wing (although hideous) is functional as well as the front splitter.... (just wait for them to run it at Talledega)

2. DEIs merchandising is all Jr and Truex... and 99.3% of that is red... so if they dont have the guy on the team then it is gonna be hard for them to move merchandise from the storez

EXACTLY what I've been saying for this entire "saga". Compare his career to Kevin Harvick & Ryan Newman. Statistically, they're damn near equal. DEI doesn't need to come up with Richard Petty reincarnated to stay alive, as Dale Jr wasn't putting up legendary numbers to begin with. Dale Jr is a GOOD driver, not a GREAT driver, and so long as DEI can get a solid veteran in that car, they'll be fine.

thanks for bringing so much to this discussion.... your such a wealth of knowledge how can we ever thank you...

I saw this on the news... "If I drive for childress, I wouldnt feel right driving the #3, that belongs to my father"

Hendrick wouldnt be bad to him, although i dont think a lot of people would accept him driving for the same team as Gordon and Johnson...

Gibbs wouldnt be a bad choice... Stewart and Jr get along on and off the trrack, plus a lot of Jr fans are Stewart fans...

he is determined to stay with chevy, so there goes my hopes for him driving a Camry....

he's just there for the name.

nascar and car racing is stupid in general.
(and i worked along side it for over 2.5 years, been to god knows how many ignorant races. sat in the pits as all fans wish they could, did video taping, race reports, etc...)

and it's waaay to unfair to be called a sport. you got people with $25k motors running against people with $25k carbs in some of the lower divisions.

Yeah, this is true.. I could see that.

I think it'd be weird if he went to RCR though..

Okay. If you bloody don't like NASCAR, then don't click the post, don't read what's going on, and leave the fans and SPORT alone. THANK YOU!

see I could see Jr at RCR, as long as

1. Car is not black
2. Chocolate Meyers is the Gas man... (he was Dale Sr. gas man since the early 80s, and really is a great character, I met him in 06 when i went to Charlotte)
3. Not used... although i think that he is against it as well..
4. Harvick doesnt get his Pusssy hurt because of Jr being there...

Aww, be nice to Happy!

It could happen, I'm just saying I think it would be weird to have him with RCR.. to not have him with DEI is one thing, but to have him with RCR is another.. just.. weird is all.

But again.. if he's not in his Dad's car.. and if it's not black, then I suppose I couldn't care less.

plus he would probly be taking budweiser with him so the car more than likely would still be red, who knows what number it could be...

i just don't see it as a sport. I've been to more nascar (all divisions)races, than everyone i know except for the few that still work there, and i KNOW nascar as a sponsor, a fan, and as media. i've met all the greats and shook their hand(ok, i never met david pearson, but near everyone else).

say the nba was nascar, and based upon how much money they had, made their ball smaller, the net they shoot in bigger, a shorter goal, and tons of other advantages. no one would call that a sport, but that's what nascar is. Why does/did jeff gordon win so many races? He's running 800hp, while others run 550. He runs 1 separate car per race, while others run 1 or 2 for all the races, he's got carbs with quicker responses, superior brakes, and a whole bunch of other stuff, making his car much faster and better than most everyone elses.

the only auto-racing that's a fair sport, is those stupid celebrity trans am races where everyone gets the same car.

plus spend time in some pits after a race, and you'll a bunch of redneck cowboys getting drunk listening to country music. sickening, if you ask me.
