Default Digital to Analog TV Box Converter Problem

I just bought a converter box at RadioShack and the model is DigitalStream DTX9900. I was able to get it hooked up and everything and during the setup process, it's searching/scanning for channels, but once it's done, it was unable to find any channels. I don't have cable or satellite, I just have regular broadcast TV with the rabbit ears. We also have an outside antenna and we tried hooking it up to that, but it didn't work either.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It should work fine with your outdoor antennae. Wierd. Do you know for certain that they are broadcasting in digital in your area?

That is really wierd. I've been to reviews for his particular model, and everyone seems to just be using it with their existing antenna. Even the video showing you how to hook it up uses the existing antenna. Try the digital broadcast one if it isn't too expensive, I guess.

You shouldn't need a different antenna at all to pick up digital channels. I would say you might have a bad tuner box. Also, consider that digital broadcasts don't work the same as analog, if you live more than about 65 miles from where the signal is broadcast from, you will never pick up a signal. It isn't like analog where the quality just gets worse, once you are outside that radius, it just stops working altogether.
