it's all about how you wear it. the shirt is key. i've got others that really look like girl sneakers, but i just like the colors. i've got some pro ked skittles that have nothing but pink, red, yellow and lavender on them, but everytime i wear them i get a ton of props. i hate seeing someone else wearing the same kicks as me so i buy the harder to match obscure stuff.

i actually really like the wonderbread ones and they match with just about anything. the watermelon ones actually smell like watermelon btw.

the only skater shoes i mess with are dunks and dc's. dc's have some really nice styles and dunks are just the best if you're willing to shell out the dough. dunks are a little dead though imo. the only pair i have that i actually care about are the de la soul's i got a few months ago. i'd kill for the heinekins.

if you're paying more than $35 or $40 a piece for those, and im sure it's much more, than yes, you have poor taste.

guys should only be allowed 2 or 3 pairs of shoes and a pair of sandals or slippers. that's it.

Anything more, and you should be taking estrogen in preparation for your upcoming surgery.

Uhhhhh........1 and 4 aren't bad. 2, 3 and 5 are....ummm....a bit too......"rainbow" for my tastes.

"guys should only be allowed 2 or 3 pairs of shoes and a pair of sandals or slippers"

Exemptions can be made if said shoes are in the colors of black or brown. I only have dress shoes, sneakers and boots, but 1 pair of each in black and brown. Other than that, 1 pair of running shoes and 1 pair of sandals, which get worn all of 4 times a year.

collecting sneakers is the same as collecting anything else. estrogen has nothing to do with it. to many it's an obsession honestly. i could wear a different pair of sneakers every day for a month if i felt like it. what i find funny is that what attracts me to a pair of sneakers is what repels everyone else.

and i don't own a single pair of sandles or boots, and i have one pair of black dress shoes which only get worn during meetings, funerals, weddings, or any other engagement where sneakers aren't appropriate.

Slippers Dave?

I have 4 pairs of Vans (I don't skate, they are comfortable, and cheap), 1 pair of Adidas Superstars (that my brother bought for me), and 2 pairs of Dr. Martens.

I have to agree with randomsuper.

I know I've sat through many a ___ moment with my husband while he's trying on every cap in the sports store. He literally could fill a room up with his hats.

Though, you wouldn't catch him leaving the store wearing a polka dotted pastel hat.

;)

jiggaman, you gotta post up some pics. a lot of these guys don't understand what it's all about, but that's cool. to each their own. i'll take some pics of some of my rarer stuff and post them up here in case anyone else here is into kicks.

and i actually wear sneakers to the beach. that way after i dry off i can just throw on some jeans and a t shirt and hang out at the restaurants or walk around. it's really not that big of a deal to me.

i disagree, while I'd wear #1&3 to work even myself, and saw they are only 65-70 a piece, I don't find myself fiending for "clothing accessories". (and btw, I actually work in the fashion industry as a grphx designer, so I'd have a lot more excuse to have that obsession)

the ONLY people I know who "collect" shoes or other clothing accessories like jewelry, hats, stockings, scarfs, and the like are women.

even those gangsta & prep kids that need to have the shiniest white shoes, only own a few pairs themselves.

admit it, you tuck it back while singing "Goodbye Horses" by Q. Lazzarus in the mirror, it's ok.
