You don't know any guys who collect and love baseball caps? What about football jerseys?
i am aware there are some, my grandpa had a bunch of hats that were given to him for free or stupid hats from places he'd visit like "Welcome to Little Big Falls, South Dakota - The Littlest Big Falls in the triplex area".

i'm not into *ball sports, nor are any of my friends, so i don't know people that collect jerseys.

To me, a pool is much, much better.

I had the sansals conversation with my brother the other day, I need some, trying to find comfortable ones are hard though. I want leather ones, not the cheap rubber/plastic things.

jenna, i literally have 1 hat. it's a black hat i bought at an army navy store. i'm not a maniac about anything else, so i can totally understand your husbands collecting. a co worker of mine has a thing for hockey jerseys, but he doesn't even wear them. he just collects them. he's a big hockey fan though so it explains it.

I have 1 hockey jersey (TB Lightning) and 1 Hat (TB Lightning). I only wear the jersey when I go to a game, which is once or twice a year, and I never wear the hat.

My husband is a sports junkie. He just recently has started to collect hockey jerseys from the thrift stores in Canada.

Are you serious!? I've surfed since 8th grade (when I found out girls like it ) and to me that is blasphemy! I knew we had conflicting beliefs but I don't think I can talk to you anymore.

Rainbows. Best sandal you will ever buy.

I think that for every *thing* there is someone that collects it (even the very gross). Hell, I have about 600 green crayola crayons

the ONLY people I know who "collect" shoes or other clothing accessories like jewelry, hats, stockings, scarfs, and the like are women.

even those gangsta & prep kids that need to have the shiniest white shoes, only own a few pairs themselves.

admit it, you tuck it back while singing "Goodbye Horses" by Q. Lazzarus in the mirror, it's ok.
that makes me laugh but is very untrue. Look at Michael Jordan's shoes.... people are so into collecting his stuff that they have started putting serial numbers on the shoes so people know they have authentic stuff.

Ever watched an episode of MTV cribs? 9 times out of 10 the guys have outrageuous shoes selections to choose from...

There was an article in sports illustrated last year after the heat won the title, and it was called "Must be the shoes" ..it profiled D. Wade and his shoe collection, he says he never wears the same pair twice. He also stated that when alot of us were younger, we couldnt afford any of the luxuries, the shoes, the clothes etc...and now that we can afford it, we buy em all!

Poeple get killed over shoes in the "ghetto" all the time. Ever heard of the new Steve and Barries stores? They are all stephon marbury gear which he prices cheap because when he was growing up, a couple of his buddies were smoked for their Jordans. nothing over 15 bucks....shoes for 15 bucks, and people are buyin them up like crazy.

If you are really into shoes. Let me know, there are a couple GREAT documentaries on how shoes have become just as big of a style thing as clothing, cars, ANYTHING really....

i actually sell one of those documentaries at my store called "just for kicks" - and it is VERY interesting if you are into shoes.

these are just a couple examples....

I get the same thing from my fiance, but I think all the shoes I have serve a purpose:

1 pair of cheap black dress shoes (work)
1 pair of nice, expensive black shoes (special events)
1 pair of brown dress shoes (work/going out)
1 pair of casual black shoes (casual day at work)
1 pair of Pumas (everyday, running around shoes)
1 pair of running shoes
2 pairs of Docs (I've had them since high school)
1 pair of boots (house work)
1 pair of Steve Maddens (she bought them)

and some misc old shoes.

I kinda dig them... I don't think I could pull most of them off, but hell.

My favorite pair of shoes are my vans slip ons with the skull and crossbone pattern.
I also have vans old skools with leopard print, but those are best worn with a suit.

The only thing '___' (your word, not mine) is if you actually wear your pants rolled at the bottom like in pic #2. 'Watermelon' keds? Whoa! No offense but some of those kicks are just plain weak.

I hear you about collecting shoes. I used to collect J's before all the 'self employed' who have nothing better to do than have their 3 buddies crowd in front of you 5 mins before the store opens and buy 5 pairs each BS. Also, all the politics that go on with Mgrs at Champs, Foot Action, and Foot Locker. Case in point; when the Jordan OLNL Retro 1 Pack dropped on April 21, my local Champs only had 18 out of 65 pairs available to the public. What kind crap is that? You know A LOT of those went on to eBay.

It's all good though because some of my J's paid for the down on my house. Which is what I put my $$$ into now. I still get the 'itch' every once in a while. But then reality sets me straight when I see the ghetto-fab-no-legitimate-job-having-'self employed'-rats standing in line. I used to get mad but now I chuckle.

I still have 50+ pairs of J's. Here's a sample of the closet...

This is about 1/3 of what I have. And my favs...

AJ IX. I don't see why collecting shoes is a big deal. Some guys collect baseball cards, comics, sports memorabila, etc. Look at it this way; at least we're not blowing it on crack, heroin, meth.

Dude... if you want some exceptionally comfortable flip flops, I have a pair of Sanuk Lazyboys... they are the only pair of flip flops I can wear, I've rocked the same pair since I got them in Hawaii a few years ago.

Back in my day, a new pair of Jordans could stay on the shelf at Foot Locker for three WEEKS before someone could grab them. Nowadays you're lucky to see them in store for more than three MINUTES. And GOD FORBID you play BASKETBALL in them! Blasphemy!

I dunno. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to understanding the urge to collect something I consider an everyday necessity like shoes. I have one pair of shelltoes that I wear almost everywhere. ONE PAIR. And I WEAR IT. Never saw the point in NOT wearing a pair of nice shoes more than once. I guess the same could be said for people who only buy cars to put them in the garage. Cars are meant to be driven, shoes are meant to be worn, not on display or on your next eBay auction.

Imelda Marcos comes to mind when I see my girlfriend's brother's Dunks collection.

as someone who works in a sneaker store there are alot of men who collect sneakers especially jordans, dunks and air forces.

if you like the pro keds then thats all that matters, it could be worse you could be one of those fools who think they're cool and hate on others cuz they think colorful sneakers are "___".

those are the types who only wear all white or all black sneakers or 1 pair of dirty converse all stars that they think "goes" with everything.

I totally agree when I worked a Footlocker in High School I saw thousands of people (grown rich Men) come and stand in line for hours before we opened waiting on the new Jordans. I love my shoes and dont mind getting made fun of by my friends for it but I have never been told when I go out that my shoes dont match or they look stupid with what I have on. I f you loike your shoes and the girl you are with or want to get with likes your shoes thats all that matters. I think the are all cool and doesnt Pharrell have just about all of the new Keds?

i dont understand why people wear all these types of shoes, and pay so much for them.. i mean its your hobby so i understand that, because people (i.e. my family and friends) dont understand why i will constantly drop in money into my car if i am just going to sell it.. but still, some of the shoes i have seen look hideous, most of what you have posted on the first page i think are pretty ugly, and you just want some attention.. however the only ones i would wear are the bloody ones, those are cool.

but then again, i usually alternate between Nike Cortez's when i do need shoes, black one time, white the next.. i go through about two pairs a year.
