It's the weather change, causes more static electricity. I'm real bad with that. Wlaking through Costco or Safeway with the polished floors, I can shoot lightning bolts like the Evil Emperor...

Try touching the door before you start getting out. You just need to ground yourself without the spark. That's why a lot of older cars ran a groundstrap, a conductive piece that attached to the frame and would touch the ground when you stop.

As you are getting out of the car, touch the outside (painted metal) part of the door. If you continually hold the metal as you get out of your car, the electrons will pass slower and shouldn't give you a shock

The static is often created as you slide on the seat and place your foot on the ground and then touch the metal. if you're touching it as the static builds, it will just transfer and not build up to the point where it zaps you.

Some people also say Febreze and like products may help...

You could put a Litebulb in your mouth and it will light up and discharge static shock.

It's been really bad that last 1-2 weeks around here. I get sparked all the time in and out of the car and around the house.

Happens all the time, but now that winter is here the clothes are thicker and warmer, ect. the seats in the scions are made so that static is generated more so than most cars......MAN I HATE THAT WHEN THAT HAPPENS @!!
Try This........Get out and try not to touch any thing on the door that discharges your static and if your bud or lady friend is walking with you get behind and touch your finger to the earlobe and watch what happens........HE he HE HE !!!

Static electricity is "supposedly" a winter issue but not with my box!! I hate it! I have been getting shocked for the passed 15 months!!! Its annoying now!

I also hate the fact that I straighten my hair, so you can imagine what it looks like when Im in my box!!! lol

I have leather so it cant be my stock seats either.

Oh well just touch something and get it over with so the "pain" doesn't come as a shock each time! LOL
