Default DSL Choices

Well, I just got an email from SBC/ATT that my DSL service is ending soon and I can upgrade to Pro DSL for $18 a month, or if I don't do anything my service is automatically renewed for $35 a month. I am currently getting around 1.3mbps as my download speed. My first question is, can I cancel my current service, then order it again at the current offer of $13 for 1 year from the same company? If not, what other DSL services are out there that are at about the same speed for less than $15 a month? I checked Verizon DSL but it's a bit too slow, 768kbps for $15 a month which is what I currently pay for mine and get twice the speed... Any help would be great guys!

Is there any way of renewing my $15 a month normal DSL or do I have to upgrade to pro if I decide to stay with ATT?

Pro DSL from SBC downloads at up to 3.0mbps , that's twice your current speed. I'd think that alone would be worth the three bucks more a month?
If no, try cable . We have Charter here . They off er a competetive deal .

Yeah, if I can't renew my current DSL Express plan at 1.5mbps for the same $15 a month I'm going to switch to DSL Pro.

If your line qualifies, ATT is offering their Elite package (6000/600kbps) for $27.99/month for 12 months then $39.99/month thereafter.

How would upload speed help me though? I don't send information out very frequently. The vast majority of my internet usage is downloading things and viewing websites, not sending emails or things of that nature. Is there somthing I'm missing when it comes to upload speeds?

BTW, I renewed my servise with DSL Pro today....

Well , since youv'e already renewed it makes no difference but Cable uses the up/down debate as a sales point since Cable is the same either way.
My own choice to go with DSL from SBC/ATT was also made with respects to the company involved. I have little respect for Cable companies especially considering how dependent I am upon my connection for work. There's just no way I'm relying on a Cable connection for work.
Hope you enjoy your faster speeds with the Pro service and good luck!

A faster upload speed helps when gaming online, running filesharing apps, or sending large files.
