It seems to be mostly Honda ratracers that wanna do the 'stop light grand prix' with me.

Though I did have one good looking old Blazer try a one-on-one with me just outside Missoula - I knew I was in serious trouble with that one, though, when he lit up all four tires (and yes there was one huge roar, and I think the tags on the fenders said "454" as he smoked by... (That was one mean Blazer, and waaaaay overkill for a stock xB. Heck, he has more displacement than the xB in just two of his eight cylinders.)

I still have no idea why some folks feel the need to challenge, though.

Careful.

Some of those lifted trucks are straight up MONSTER's.

In my neighborhood, there's 2 guys with lifted ridiculously high Silverado's
that push more than 1000HP according to them. Not sure if it's true,
but they sure do sound like it.

My favorite thing to do is run neck and neck with them until they start to just pull ahead a tiny bit and then punch it and take off.. This happened to me by my house about a week ago. Some kid in a burnt orange cobalt(not s/c) thought he was the shiite, and tried to race me at a light and i let him stay beside me for a while until i saw his trophy gf in the passenger seat looking over too. And as he started to pass me he started smiling and laughing so i punched it and too the f**k off and just waved good bye. When he caught up at the next light, he was sooo ____ed that he flicked me off and ran through the red light, and not just scooted by when it was "orange", it was solid red. I wish i could've seen his face as i passed him.

I know it was just a cobalt but he was asking for it!!!

I just act like it's race time and I am John Force, get them all worked up, light turn green and casually take off... meantime, he is gone like a scalded dog and looking pretty stoopid by the time he is all by his lonesome...

If you can't take it to the track, you can't bring it to the streets.

I love the guys that will punch it off the line and then slow way down and not even go the speed limit, then when you go to pass them it seem their ego kicks back in and they punch it again only to get stopped by the next liight to do it all over again.

Or like on Suburban Commando when all the cars would punch it to see if you can make it through to the next light
