Default fed up

I'm sick and tired of being scared of modifing my car. Seriously this has to stop. Everytime I want to do something to my car I dread what my mom or twin sister will think/say. Both are very unsupportive.

This morning I took my mom to the garage cos I wanted to show her the new rims I got and her face was blank and she asked how much I paid (1k) she rolled her eyes and said "why not spend that money on jewelry?" and I replied "because I'm 22 and my lobes aren't even pierced so I don't care for jewelry! you spend tonns of money on super fancy creams and massages, and the twin spends on shoes and bags and I WANT TO SPEND ON MY CAR. I'm a wonderful daughter I graduated with my BA at 20 yrs old, I don't do drugs, my head is on my shoulders I have a great job WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT!?"

So yeah a fight.

Then I called my twin to ask her when we would hang out this week-end to let me know since from now until May either on saturdays or sundays I will be busy. And she said "with what yr stupid car?! I hope yr kidding yr so ridiculous like a 16 yr old boy".

The only supportive people in my family are my older sister and my uncle who both agree that this is MY hobby and only I should decide what to do and what not to do to my car.

The only other person who has a say in this aside from me is my dad since he paid most of the car but he is in Italy so what does he know...

/end rant

Pics of rims?
I learned a long time ago that getting most girls to appreciate the fine art of car modding is a fruitless endeavor.

whats up C?

my parents think that its a waste of money what i've done with my tc. however, its something i like to do, ive been around the "car scene" since i was 10 b/c my older cousins have had several modified cars.

dont worry, as long as you are managing your money and arent dumping it all onto the car, you'll be ok. i think the most important thing is to be happy with your car and what you've done with it. the best part of it all, is the friends you make along the way!!

I don't even know why they are complaining. I lend them money all the time.

I enjoy the mods for 5 minutes. Then I think of all the future possible comments I might get from them ruin everything.

You work for the money, as long as you pay all your bills you have like rent and stuff , then you should be able to spend the rest on what you want, so keep modding, post up some pics of the rims, love to see what you got.

and jeez if i mention that im doing something, i get the whole why spend the money? why ruin a perfectly good car? why didnt you get an SUV or large size car? are you still a teenager? from my ever so practical father... my mother loves it... (sorry dont mean to rub it in)

when i was living at home it was torture anytime i was in the garage doing something... it was harder than trying to watch **** in my room.... not that i did that...

My parents arn't too supportive either. When I tell them that I'm getting an Injen Axle Back in a month they ask me if it'll make my car fly. Do what ever you want. In the end it's YOUR car. not theirs.

Whats time and money well spent to one is a waste to another......My dad use to give me crap all the time. He was ____ed cause for about a month, I had packages coming to the house via ups or fedex daily for my civic........I made a promise to myself...That I would take an interest in what my kids are into when i have my own.....so many times i just wished my dad would see what I have done with my cars as a form of art.........Now that I do a lot of side work working on peoples cars.....he still dosent see the art but only the money I charge people.

So what is the point? to have a smile on yr face for 5 minutes and then regret it for a long time because of what they may say to you.

I was thinking of a pain job but God forbig I think I might loose an arm for that

You think too much....don't let them take your joy away.

From the looks of the rims, you did a lot of searching to find just the right ones...don't let them ruin that in 5 minutes.
If they insist on being negative to what you enjoy, then don't share it with them...don't let what they think or say get you down... I know it's easy to say and a lot harder to do, but to some extent, we have all been there. Share what you like with people that appreciate your labors of love.
Their words are like their thoughts....empty.

Yes it took me and my friend months to find them. And the blank look on my mom's face made those 4 months seem like a total waste of time.

I started getting into my car because of my screwed up "luck" with my ex bfs. I had love to give and I give it to my car, that's why I'm doing this not because I want a pimp car or look ghetto as they say.
