No problem. Glad to have another Scooby owner around. What AFSC are you?

Only one more week left in the desert, and then I'll be back in Washington. Then hopefully I can find a few 05 STi's to choose from. Found a WRB 05 with 3600 miles. They're asking 28,999, see if I can sweet talk them down to 25,000. Also found a silver 05 with 7500 miles that's even more ridiculous. They want 32,000 for theirs. I like Silver more, but I'll go with which ever one's willing to sell for cheaper. Don't really like the bronze rims too much on the wrb, but after tasting some boost, I probably won't look back.

Agree. One of the worst choices you can make is buy a car because it is UN-popular. Stick to the car that has more owners more aftermarket support more parts floating around etc.

Now, the 4g63 has been around forever, and you can very easilly make 400+whp with an evo, but the transmission is not as strong.

With a WRX you get a >230BHP AWD turbo beast... with a so-so transmission.

IMHO the biggest thing you get in STi is basically a bullet proof stock car. The car is meant to take those 6000 rpm clutch dumps and light all four corners. Thats what you pay the 30k for, the ability to drive the car like you SHOULD be able to drive a WRX.(which has a transmission made of glass )

I had mentioned in the first post about there being quite a few wrx's runnin around where I live, but oh well. If the car performs great and has good reliability to bat, I figure I can be played out as well.
I would not say that WRXs are "played out"...yes there are a lot of people in WA that have them, but that is because there are a lot of outdoor and/or rally enthusiasts around here. At least we use them to their full advantage.

I'm not really looking to make my car ridiculously powerful. So the STi's limitations when it comes to crazy power gains, doesn't bother me. I'm pretty sure I won't be doing 6k rpm clutch dumps though. lol
