Default Hey Fellow Homeowners, Need Help.

Just wondering if any of you have this installed and is it easy to install or was it installed for you?

I'm a little nervous about attempting it but the wife wants it and I'm trying to save some money. I got a quote of $1,400 for a 17' X 11' section in my backyard and I think it's a little steep.

It's not as easy as u think it is
If u don't want to have swirly level over few months/years I suggest gettin a professional. There's a reason why everything costs.....because most of time every average Joe will mess it up thinkin it's easy..... remember u need heave power tools to lay em flat and keep it like that for years to come

$1,400 installed? Seems very reasonable to me.

I've seen them install stuff like this on those home do-it-yourself shows and it's something that looks pretty complicated.

Good luck to if you decided to do this on your own. I'd love to see the finished result, even if you don't do it yourself! I'd love to have something like that in my yard!

It's not hard to do, but it's a hell of a lot of work (does that make sense?) In other words, it's not complicated...just labor intensive. If you do a half-way job, it's gonna look crappy and you won't like it. To do it right will take a while. If it's a highly visible area or a focal point of your property, you might want to get it done by a pro.

It all boils down to what you think your time is worth....

You will need to prep the area, lay down a bed of sand, level it, tamp it down, lay your brick, cut your ends, level the brick because the *@%^ sand settled, pack sand between the bricks, haul off the excess and scrap...1400 sounds cheap to me.

We looked into this for our backyard. We wanted to replace the simple concrete slab near the patio door on the main floor, but it was too difficult to do. I ended up doing a pebble mosaic. Much easier and I like the look better. It's also textured so you can't really screw it up.

$1,400 seems cheap. You should get a $1,500+ return on it when you sell your home.

LOL If you mow the grass more than twice a summer and get that sofa out of the front yard, you wouldn't even have to move!
