yeah they can. if their lights are aimed high and to the left it will blind oncoming traffic , if theyre aimed too high they will blind drivers in front of said car.

if theyre hid's without glare shields it will blind folks with the hotspots that come of having an hid bulb in a halogen reflector housing.

you've got to be kidding. xB's have one of the dimmest looking headlights i've seen on new cars, i drive infront of the all the time, near everyday. but they're still not 30-300% like everyone wants with their after market bulbs.

In our cars, HID really don't provide that much of an improvement. I have them, and guess what, it's not any better compared to Philips Vision Plus. The beam is limited by the area where the reflector is aimed, so I can't see any further than the halogen bulbs. Most people just have them to look cool.

Although I am still running HID, I am now using D2R bulbs and there's a significant decrease in glare. I don't know why those aftermarket HIDs usually don't offer the D2R option.

yeah xB's lights are dim. but they are mounted high and stock springs cause the car to bounce so it can blind people but only barely.

do your d2r's have glare/antiglare shields. it REALLY improves output because the light is focused closer to how halogen lights are thus creating a brighter output instead of wasting light like a non glare shielded kit does.

Yup. I do it so cops don't ask questions.

As for the light output, if you are looking to see further, it's not any better. But the ground just gets brighter.

That's actually very easy to do (and very illegal). I did it once in my old old corolla. Just get some cheap fogs and mount them to the inside headliner. You'd want to fab inside glare guards to make sure that none of the light reflects off the glass and back into the cabin. You'd also have to cutaway headliner to make sure there is no fire danger. And finally, clear any tiny, as the heat will damage tiny.

Hid's are NOT practical nor safe for any high beam application, as the warm up time is too slow, when compared to halogen. Getting halogen lights to be bright is not hard; it's making them produce light without glare and also making them last that's the hard part.

yeah, but man, i hate it when people are riding my @$$ following too closely, i wouldn't use them often, but one night i was driving home from work and this POS old subaru wagan is literally so close i couldn't even see his headlights in my rear-view mirror anymore just a white glow coming over my trunk. one idea that my dad said to do is get a super bright flashlight and aim it at the rear-view mirror...i'll have to try that sometime...

Before I went with the the mounted fogs, I used to carry a handheld spotlight powered by the cig lighter. MUCH more effective than a flashlight.

Believe me, I understand. But be careful... Honestly, I eventually realized that it's not worth the risk of jail.

And there are more effective things that are less obvious yo thwart tailgaters. But I'm not going to offer any help on that subject... Don't want some dead kid on my conscience.

What I usually do if someone tailgating me (intentionally) is to drive in the side lane to get those pebbles in his bumper.

Daves phonebook and doing the occasional brake test seems to be a good idea.

no, no, no the most effective way to get people off your **** (considering your driving fast enough) is to wash your windows with your spray. Most of the spray will fly over your car and go all over theirs. I am not joking it works all the time. They usually back off then get back on and I do it again until they realize I'm being a **** too.

my ultimate fav. is when I'm stopped at a red light on a hill and people stop so close to my butt I can feel them hovering I just like to do a friendly roll just enough to scare the ____ out of them. and if worst comes to worst I hit them it's their fault because they did not give me the 4' minimum distance between our cars.

no thanks, i'm not interested in taking my tc back to the body shop. besides like i said, it was a POS old subaru wagan, jerkoff probably didn't have insurance and would have taken off once he hit me. i got better things to do with my time than get rear-ended.

Even if you're not at fault in an accident, your insurance rates can and will go up after an accident. Some companies will allow for 1 non-at-fault accident, but if you're constantly getting into accidents, it won't make financial sense.

Now if you could ensure that the damage is under the minimal claimable damage (insurance) for your state, you could file off the dmv record in small claims court.

But you couldn't PAY me to deal with the county/city courts in CA. That's why lawyers make bank... It's a crappy job.
