Default Home Theater set up questions

alright guys i have a LG plasma and my TV doesnt have any audio outputs on it not even a headphone jack or anything, the only thing it has is a optical output but im trying to set up a small home theater system in my room with it and cant figure out how im going to get any sound to a receiver unless the receiver has a way to run coaxial cable through.
curious to see if any of you guys have any ideas on how to make this all work

does that Plasma tv have HDMI output? I connect everything to my Onkyo NR509 with HDMI cables. Then speakers to my NR509 for audio, and HDMI cable to tv for video.

i use that digital audio out before. I had my pc hook up to my tv with hdmi, But in order for it to have sound. I have to turn on the tv first then pc. I got tired of restart my pc. so i added the optical cable pc connect to the receiver.

Did you have a receiver yet? just get the optical audio cable for $6. I paid $10 last year.

at the moment i don't have a standalone dvd player so i use my xbox for dvds but i have not watched a movie with this set up but my xbox is ran through my receiver with a HDMI cable then my receiver to my tv with HDMI so I'm not using the optical cable for anything except just watching cable tv.
