Default How to determine fitment

Instead of asking "will these fit?". I'd like to find out how you determine if wheels will fit or not. Obviously there is wheel size and offset to take into consideration. But if the wheel im looking at has same size wheels and tires, but different offsets, how can I determine if the difference is acceptable?

I have 47mm offset. Looking at 41mm and 50mm replacements. Is that ok?

You might get appropriate advice in the "wheel and tire" forum. I saw a link there to an "offset calculator".
